Beware - it happens!

"A minister parked his car in a no-parking zone in a large city because he was short of time and couldn't find a space with a meter.

Then he put a note under the windscreen wiper that read: "I have circled the block 10 times. If I don't park here I'll miss my appointment. Forgive us our trespasses."

When he returned, he found a parking ticket from a police officer, along with this note: "I've circled this block for 10 years. If I don't give you a ticket I'll lose my job. Lead us not into temptation."

Even my dentist has posters in his treatment room alerting patients about this death-inducing syndrome.

If you consistently wake up tired, see your GP. There's some likelihood you may be suffering from a very dangerous but treatable disease.

Researchers believe tired brain cells in people with obstructive sleep apnoea also affect those people when they are awake – damaging their concentration and causing micro-sleeps the person is not even aware of.

Any dedicated driving instructor knows innately that they receive clients' payments for expanding and deepening clients' abilities to interact - socially, physically - even intellectually.

So this quote is ... provocative:

"The [U. K.'s] Institute of Advanced Motorists' spokeswoman Heather Butcher said: "Depending on the rider or driver's experience, it could be one [road] to avoid. We don't recommend putting yourself or others in danger… You can read reviews online from various sources confirming that it's a challenging road, a thrill, etcetera, but we would advise all riders and drivers to approach roads like this with caution." And Neil Graham, a communications officer for the Cumbria Police added, "People shouldn't seek out the road to challenge themselves."

Sorry officer Graham - that's exactly what people SHOULD do! Yes, certainly, with due care and consideration. No-one wants to die!

As an Older Driver Assessor, I do not condone this behaviour!

My neighbour was working in his yard when he was startled by a late model car that came crashing through his hedge and ended up in his front lawn.

He rushed to help an elderly lady driver out of the car and sat her down on a lawn chair.

He said with excitement, “You appear quite elderly to be driving.”

“Well, yes, I am,” she replied proudly.

“I’ll be 97 next month, and I am now old enough that I don’t even need a driver’s license anymore.”

“You don’t need a driver’s license anymore?!?”

“That’s right! The last time I went to my doctor, he examined me and asked if I had a driver’s license. I told him ‘yes’ and handed it to him.

He took scissors out of the drawer, cut the license into pieces, and threw them in the waste basket, saying, ‘You won’t need this anymore’.

So I thanked him and left!”"
