Had the pleasure today to give this stunning FJ panelvan a tune up, grease and oil change and check and adjust the carb balance, still running a grey motor with a lumpy little cam and twin stromberg carbs. It’s a credit to its owner how well it’s been built.

In between all my other work I’ve been slowly working on my torana to get the new motor and driveline in still has some wiring to complete and parts of the fuel system and the exhaust off the turbo yet to be made but all the big stuff is now done, looking forward to some boosted fun

UPDATE -

At this time there is will be a pause on Gerrard taking on any new bigger jobs.

Gerrard will always attempt accommodate your needs, but he may not always have the time or space to take on last-minute changes or jobs that are larger than originally anticipated. So we ask that when you book in you discuss in detail what you are seeking.

At this time Gerrard is not able to take on any more engine rebuilds beyond what is already booked in and confirmed or is in the workshop already.

The blue Holden 6 with triples has had the camshaft broken in, I’ve balanced the carbs and set the timing, idle and mixtures. Now to give it back to the owner to fit.

What’s better than 1 Holden 6, well it has to be 2.
The blue one I didn’t build I’m just finishing off for a customer runs an Ivan Tighe cam, big compression, big port head, ICE Ignition and a beautiful set of 45mm Webers to round it off.
The other one is my turbo 6 which I’ve almost finished building, running big port low compression head, forged pistons, crow solid cam, cometic head gasket, ICE Ignition with boost re**rd and of course TO4 turbo and Weber to match. Still need to finish the sump, and oil feed/drain lines and a few other minor things then it will be time to fit it back in the car to start the exhaust and plumbing.

It’s been busy for me over the last month we’ve just completed this 56 2 door amongst all my other jobs.
This job included fitting a Holley sniper fuel injection system, removing the old tank and fitting a custom 90 litre tank with in-tank pump, having the exhaust modified to fit with the larger tank.
Once that was done new polished rocker covers were fitted and a new throttle bracket and lokar cable fitted to make the it a much smoother transition on the throttle.
Once again thanks goes to David McPharlin for all his help where 4 hands are better than 2.

This was a big job, take everything from a rusty WB statesman including engine, trans, diff, power steering and all the braking system including booster and pedal and fit it all into the HQ that’s after removing all of its 6 cylinder running gear first. Before fitting I had to strip the engine and repaint in correct colour for the era, we also had to remake brake lines as the WB had metric fittings, convert from manual to auto and a million other little things as we went.
Must say the final result was worth it and looks so much better and with a bit more added power now

Well today we reached a milestone the little Datsun 1600 fired into life. Would just like to thank Nathan from Racewire Tasmania for building the loom to make the Haltech happy and working his magic to make it run safely before a final tune. David from Deemac Speed and Custom for his ongoing fabrication work and help and Mark from Austin’s Electrical for all the other wiring and electrical parts.
We still have a few things to do but it now runs and drives and getting closer to the finish line.
