13 years in the build but who’s counting.. a passion that started with me before I started walking, being brought up around muscle cars it was hard not to love, my mum and dad fred and Debbie Schenk both had a love for cars and v8s, dads 1974 corvette stingray hit the market because 2 seats weren’t practical with 4 kids arguing over who was going to go with dad. The next car still gets my heart racing, the vermillion fire xy gt rep, mum would always drive it as a normal daily driver to the shops or even parked out in the clay at speedway car park. Safe to say I was addicted! My first falcon was a xc 302 rally pack, I convinced my parents to let me buy this car when I was a learner driver even though dad said no v8s or two doors.
My dream was an xy but my budget got me the closest thing. We started the restoration Dad teaching me what to do along the way I can still hear him saying I just want to get this a little bit better, always looking for perfection. I soon learned that I had the same eye for detail.
I started this coupe when I was 20 years old and just like that 13 years past and I was the only one enjoying it still. I’ve done 98% of the work to this car which I’m proud to say, from rust repairs, body work, paint, stainless trim restoration and mechanical. It’s so close to being done with only the bumpers needing to be chromed and a few small jobs but as it’s only funded by pocket money these things take time. Right now I currently do this after hours but would love to make a career out of it.
What started it’s life as an xb is now a blown 351 xa, you couldn’t make fords design of the falcon any better so I cleaned up a few edges and put some wild colours on it, Billet wheels and a low stance what more could you want.
