It’s hard to beat the idle quality and stability on an ITB car once they’re correctly balanced, even if it’s a big job it’s still gotta be done!

Most custom or modified setups such as this one have the balance tube removed, or simply never had one, so any minor adjustment error between each throttle body makes for a terrible idle.

There are other ways to do this on cars with plenum chambers but there was no access to the throttle stops without removing it in this case, so this was the easiest way 👌

Recently Tassie’s cleanest Maloo came in for a few little mods and a little tickle on the dyno 💦

The LS3 was fitted with a Harrop FDFI 1900 from new and has been a fantastic thing however with his mates starting to turn up the competition Dwaine decided it was time to contact Harrop and source himself a party pulley and an OTR/Fascia kit to liven things up!

After fitting up the goodies we switched it over to MAFless and gave it the full proboost treatment with gains to power, torque & rpm with absolutely no compromises anywhere else - a must since it’s driven every day!

Pictured is a before and after, we wound up with just over 400kw at the wheels - a reasonably impressive output for a small blower on an otherwise completely standard and quiet vehicle, including standard headers, exhaust & camshaft🍻

After fitting up an AVO turbo kit Cara brought in her tough GT86 for a dyno tune!

We set this one up in speed density (mafless) so we can move over to a regular air temp sensor and remove the MAF allowing for a neater and simpler setup!

With the factory torque dip in the rear view mirror we now have a much smoother power delivery to play with, however there are some exhaust and other flow restrictions contributing to some boost drop so once those are sorted we can lean on it a bit further and increase those kW numbers 🥳

Craigs tough single turbo L98 recently came in for a quick medical, we found several flow restrictions causing the boost to drop from 8 down to 3 psi!

By quickly bypassing the airbox I was able to get another 1psi into it and with a little squeeze on the tune we were able to gain over 50kw at 6000rpm - Don’t be fooled by the low kw number as it still makes 600nm through an auto and mud tyres, and pulls like a freight train on the road!

With some further unblocking on the exhaust side we should see a further increase in boost pressure and also have the ability to lean on the tune a bit further and get the party started 🥳🥳

Where to start with this one!

Mick brought in his supercharged LS2 Clubsport to start the process of getting the car dialled in and putting out the power it should 🚙💨

We started by removing the transmission, fitting a
Dominator 3000 stall and giving the transmission a full service including an enlarged pan and a large trans cooler.

Then we moved onto the engine bay fitting a Harrop 8 rib kit, overdrive balancer/crank pin kit and the smallest supercharger pulley available 🥳

To finish it off we fitted a new snout and a bigger 3.5” intake to let it breathe and headed for the rollers!

After finally getting some proper time spent on the tune the resulting increase in drivability was huge, it now has a nice choppy idle and does not try to push you down the road when sitting at the lights!

Unfortunately we’ve now found the limit of the fuel pump after increasing the boost so we’ve had to cut the rev limit short and leave a very safe tune in it so he can still enjoy the car while we wait for the next phase to happen.

Very keen to get the new fuel system in this one so we can lean on it and see what the little HTV1900 can do 🍻🍻

I slipped on the dyno video with this one, but I still had to share this animal of a BA we tuned!

Ron’s taxi has copped a pretty seriously built Barra, sporting a bulletproof bottom end, an extensively ported cylinder head with camshafts north of 280 degrees, a G42 pro mod hot side and every single supporting mod you could possibly throw at it.

Managed by a Haltech Elite pro plug-in on a straight e85 tune it’s still 100% daily drivable and quite pleasant to drive at that.

When we initially gave it a run-in tune on wastegate pressure (~20psi) it made something like 580kw at the wheels with ease 😂 - We’ve now tickled it up to what we’re hoping is the safe limit for the transmission making an effortless 1050nm at 20psi and 660kw at about 24psi 🤩

Stay tuned for the big wind up because supposedly it’s going to the moon once the driveline can take it, and be sure to hit up the boys at Ron’s Automotive if you need a beast of a Barra built, best in the state🍻

Ethan’s neat series 2 r33 came in to have the Apexi Power FC recalibrated to suit his new turbo kit, consisting of a 6boost topped with a Pulsar gtx3076 gen 2.

Held back slightly by the standard camshafts and pump fuel, it still managed 275kw safely without pushing it too hard and making any compromises, plenty enough to party 🥳

We recently had the pleasure of taking Matt’s VE to the next level by tearing it down and fitting a full VCM 883 cam kit, along with the usual full reseal & tidy up of all other necessary components including 100% genuine gaskets, seals, lifters and hardware.

It was topped off with a fully optioned VCM intake and a good dyno tune resulting in the usual flawless drivability, a grumpy idle and a healthy power increase, coming very very close to the 340kw mark👌

This tough & immaculate VE came in for a retune to get it running as it should, we got rid of the maf and fitted a mafle...

This tough & immaculate VE came in for a retune to get it running as it should, we got rid of the maf and fitted a mafless boot to the OTR while it was here and then gave it a tune.

We were able to massively improve drivability, start & idle quality + make some measurable gains to power after all this was done!

With an unknown but very large cam & all the supporting mods this one joined the very small list of stock bottom end 6.0’s to hit the 340kw mark on my dyno!

Absolute beast of a machine this one 🤙🤙

Featuring a Haltech Elite 2500 + an s300sx/6boost combo strapped to a TB48 it also had absolutely no trouble sending the muddies into the 300 club safely and while maintaining full drivability 🥳
