Council has been in communication with the Department of Health who are monitoring the mosquito outbreak in Liverpool 🦟

CBCity council has set up traps to capture mosquitoes which will be tested for disease and have implemented a spraying program.

Some of the sites sprayed in our area are:
Vale of Ah Reserve, Garrison Point, Lake Gillawarna, Flinders Slopes, Shortland Brush, Kelso Park North and South, Lambeth Reserve and Kinch Reserve

Council will continue to monitor the situation

Track is dry and the gate is unlocked!

NOTICE: The Track is closed till mid this week to give it a chance to dry.

We dewatered it earlier and locked the gates, the surface is soft atm and will take a few days for it to dry, untill then the gates will remain closed to minimise damage.
We will unlock the gates for people to use it when the surface is suitably dry again.
Will announce it when we’ve unlocked the gates.

Hi everyone, track maintenance is scheduled for Saturday the 18th this weekend, 10:00am onwards.
Some regulars are away, so any extra hands would be appreciated.
We anticipate a couple of hours of tidying up before the track is
drive-ready.

We cleaned up some rubbish this morning and I am asking everyone to please clean up after themselves to keep the facility clean and tidy. There’s a bin at the car park so please use it 🙂👍

Hey guys just want to note that we are planning a ‘working bee’ for track maintenance next weekend Saturday 4th May, weather permitting.
We just need to basically fill up some holes, pick out rocks off the surface, repair couple of the jumps and straighten the ropes etc.

A couple of hours in the morning and can drive after we finish.

-Please reply coming in the comments if you can make it so we know how many will show up.

If we get rained out will reschedule for the following weekend.

Edit: best we postpone till next weekend 11th May, due to the weather.

The track is open to use but remains unfinished we was hoping to get more dirt but doesn't seem to be happening any time soon we will ask if the council can do something for us in the next financial budget.
As for want still needs to be done is the sprinklers needs to be moved away from the the track, the council was ment to do this an install the sprinklers but the sprinklers has been misplaced once the sprinklers are in the correct place we will need remeasure and pin the ropes in correctly, the width of the track is 4 meters all around the whole track then we have artificial grass to go between the lanes.

Small update.
We’ve cleared some big rocks off the surface last weekend and some shaping on the jumps and general tidy up.
Today we screeded, filled low spots, and dry rolled the whole track and the jumps as best as possible for one day.
The guys also loaded the rope on to the back of the truck but everyone was too worn out to unload it so that’s tomorrows job.
Tomorrow we’ll be at it again and we’ll start laying the ropes for the layout.
The material we got delivered is not the greatest and far from close to the sample received so to make the best of what we have we’re planning on running the sprinklers heavily through the week for a few days on and off to saturate the track and get the roller on it again next weekend to get the surface as hard as possible.

Todays progress the dirt got spread out and the jumps formed.

Big thank you to Austin McMahon for putting in a long day to get it to this stage, you’re a legend mate thanks heaps. It was a very long day.

Also want to thank the Canterbury Council for everything that they’ve done & still doing for this track, it’s been an absolute pleasure dealing with the team and we can’t thank them enough.

We will be tidying up the surface and compacting it this weekend & if time allows put the ropes for the layout.

We’ve had to cancel todays track layout build due to last nights sudden rain, the track is very muddy and not suitable to drive any machinery on it at this stage.
We will reschedule for the next available date by Austin McMahon when he’s available and a good weather forecast.
