Just an update and a friendly reminder about the new laws in Victoria about approaching a tow truck that is assisting a accident or a break down. All drivers are to slow down to 40 km/h when passing a stationary tow truck that have their flashing lights on. This rule took effect July 1 2025. You must slow down to 40 km/h when passing a vehicle with flashing lights, same as the police rules and laws.
*You need to reduce your speed to 40 km/h when passing a tow truck which has its flashing lights on
*Drive slowly and safely pass the accident scene, and then return to the legal speed limit once you are a safe distance past the scene
*You can face a fine of up to $961 for not complying to this new rule
