This PX Ranger came in sounding fairly standard.

A good ute, but missing that bit of character you want from a proper exhaust setup.

We fitted the Redback Extreme Duty 3" DPF Back Exhaust, then fired it back up so you can hear the difference for yourself.

It is not over the top. It is just deeper, tougher, and a lot more fitting for a Ranger.

This system suits Ford Ranger PX2 and PX3 3.2L TD DPF models from 2016 to 2022 and includes the muffler delete pipe, 409 stainless tube, mandrel bends, heavy duty brackets, fitting kit, and a 10 year warranty.

Perforated vs louvered resonators. What’s the difference?

A perforated resonator uses a straight-through perforated tube with fibreglass or steel wool packing around it. It helps reduce rasp, unwanted frequencies and harsh exhaust noise while still keeping good flow.

A louvered resonator works a little differently. It uses angled internal louvers to catch and disrupt the exhaust gases as they pass through, which can make it more effective at reducing drone, rasp and exhaust velocity in the right setup.

The important part? A louvered resonator is directional. Fit it the wrong way and it won’t do its job properly.

Both options have their place depending on your setup, the sound you’re chasing and the issue you’re trying to fix.

Matthew recently ordered a set of Pacemaker Tri-Y extractors and VIPER Hi Flow 200 cell cats from us for his LS1 Commodore. The order was placed on the 7th, delivered to Adelaide on the 8th, and fitted on the 9th.

Fast delivery, safe packaging, and everything bolted up to his existing Redback 2.5" cat-back system just as expected.

The result?

A cleaner fit, a better sound, and a noticeable improvement in performance.
