BOONDOOMA DAM & BJELKE-PETERSEN DAM | Blue-green algae alert

Sunwater is continuing to monitor the high levels of potentially harmful blue-green algae at Boondooma Dam and Bjelke-Petersen Dam and a 'red alert' remains in place.
Blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) can produce toxins that pose serious health risks to humans and animals, including skin irritation, gastrointestinal illness, and other symptoms.
The alert will remain in effect until monitoring indicates a reduction in algae levels.
