Whether you’re a learner driver, experienced motorist, passenger, cyclist or pedestrian, there are always ways we can improve our road safety habits. 👏

🎉🚗 Congratulations to all of our students who have recently passed their Provisional Driving Test! 🚗🎉

This is a fantastic achievement and one that should make you all very proud. Your hard work, dedication, and commitment to becoming safe drivers has paid off.

As you begin this exciting new chapter, remember to stay safe on our roads, continue to make smart driving decisions, and enjoy the independence that comes with holding your provisional licence.

If you're nearly eligible to sit your provisional driving test, please speak with your instructor about the process as soon as possible.

This helps us make sure we have an instructor and car available for you at the right time,

If you can't see the truck driver's mirrors, they probably can't see you.

Heavy vehicles have significant blind spots around the front, sides and rear. In some positions an entire car can disappear from a truck driver's view.

This becomes especially important when:
• Overtaking a truck
• Merging near a truck
• Stopping or slowing directly in front of a truck
• Travelling alongside a truck at intersections or roundabouts

Remember, truck drivers can't avoid hazards they can't see.

Giving heavy vehicles plenty of space, avoiding lingering beside them, and making your movements predictable significantly reduces risks.

The goal isn't just to see the truck. It's to make sure the truck can see you

As students returned back for Term 3 last week, let's all do our part to help keep them safe on our roads.

Please remember to:

🚸 Slow down in school zones and obey the speed limit
🚌 Watch for children around school buses, crossings and footpaths
🚗 Allow a little extra travel time during the busy school drop-off and pick-up periods
🤝 Be patient and courteous as everyone settles back into the school routine

Every safe decision you make behind the wheel helps protect our young road users.

Let's work together to ensure every child gets to and from school safely this term. 💚💛
