Another batch of MortSport Subaru Alternator Relocation Kits being built and heading out the door!

Designed for Subaru EJ engines, our relocation kit moves the alternator and power steering pump to tidy up the engine bay and, more importantly, provide better access to the intake hose - making maintenance and restrictor checks at events that little bit easier.

Designed with rally cars and real-world servicing in mind, because sometimes the small changes make a big difference when you’re working on a car between stages.

Each kit includes the alternator bracket, power steering pump bracket, bolts and belt.

Many of you will remember the Toyota KE70 we ran at the Alpine Rally in 2022.

The KE70 has completed over 50 events during its life as a rally car. This well-used car was well overdue for some serious love and is currently undergoing one massive birthday.

It has been stripped back to its bare bones, treated for rust, and had a number of sections in the floor repaired or replaced after years of rallying. It is now off for a fresh coat of paint before returning to the workshop to be put back together.

There is still plenty of work ahead, but once it is finished, this KE70 will be back to its former glory and ready for its next chapter.

Before ➡️ After

A customer’s Toyota Celica GT-Four ST165 gearbox has gotten some attention as part of a full rebuild.

With these cars now getting on in age, finding new replacement components can be difficult, and second-hand parts are often the only option. That means taking the time to properly inspect, clean and rebuild what is available.

This gearbox casing has just been vapour blasted by mackay.vapour.blast.services and is now looking fresh and ready for the next stage of the rebuild.

It’s all part of getting this customer’s GT-Four back on the stages and keeping these iconic rally cars going 👊🏁

One of our customer builds is almost ready to hit the stages. 👀🏁

After plenty of hours in the MortSport workshop, it’ll make its competition debut at the end of the month.

We can’t wait to see this one out there doing what it was built to do!

Out with the old, in with the new. 👊

Following our recent post, the existing roll cage has now been removed from this Toyota Celica GT-Four ST165 and the shell is ready to make the trip to Brisbane for a brand-new weld-in cage built to current Motorsport Australia regulations.

It might not look like much at the moment (and it certainly isn’t the prettiest stage of the build!), but every great rally car starts with solid foundations.

We’re big believers that it’s worth taking the time to get the bones of the car right before moving on to everything else. Once the new cage is in, this build can really start to take shape.

Trust us… this one’s going to be something special. 🔥

Four generations.
Four Subarus.
One workshop.

Pretty sure this is what they mean when they say family reunion, just missing a few 💙

Recently we had this supercharged Toyota 86 in the workshop to sort through a few ongoing issues.

The car came to us after some previous work elsewhere, with a combination of wiring faults and incorrect ECU configuration meant it wasn’t performing the way it should.

After working through the wiring, correcting the Motec setup, and carrying out a full retune, we’ve got this package running exactly as it was intended.

Sometimes it’s not about throwing more parts at a problem, it’s about taking the time to diagnose the root cause and getting the foundations right!

Our latest Toyota 86 build has left the workshop and is on its way to receive its brand-new weld-in 6-point roll cage.

One of the biggest milestones in any rally build, and the true turning point that makes a road car into a race car.

Well… it’s all set up and ready to go 👀

Our AWD Mainline dyno is back where it belongs and looking better than ever.

After a refresh and the latest hardware from Mainline, we’re pretty excited to see it back in action.

Now the only thing left to do is make some power 💥
