Brett’s VK came down from the team at Allsparks Automotive and Performance as racing season gets underway, ready to get the car dialled in before hitting the track.

We got it on the alignment machine and squared everything up from front to rear, getting the setup right so Brett can get out there and put some seat time in this weekend.

A clean, precise setup gives the car a predictable feel and lets the driver concentrate on doing what matters — driving it.

Everything dialled in and ready to go. 🔧🏁

Now it’s time to put some laps down and see what this VK can do.

Frank from Allsparks Automotive and Performance trusted us with his VL to get the full wheel alignment dialled in and ready for test & tune this weekend at VMP Heathcote.

When a car is heading to the track, alignment isn’t just about making sure the steering wheel is straight.

It’s about getting the geometry right for the way the car is going to be used — making sure the car is stable, predictable and putting the power down properly when it matters.

We went right through the alignment and got the VL set up and ready to hit the track. 🔧🏁

A little look behind the scenes at the workshop. 👀

From pulling the wheels off and inspecting the brakes to getting underneath the vehicle and working through the mechanical repairs — there’s a lot that happens before a vehicle leaves our workshop.

It’s not just about changing parts and sending the car out the door.

This Hiace came into the workshop for a routine service and a few further repairs, with the customer also reporting a slipping clutch.

We got it up on the hoist and found the clutch had well and truly reached the end of its life — the clutch plate was down to the rivets. 😬

Definitely not one we wanted to leave until it completely gave up.

While we were there, we also carried out the additional maintenance and repairs:

✔️ Clutch replacement
✔️ Engine service
✔️ 2x new front tyres
✔️ Wheel alignment
✔️ Tyre rotation
✔️ Full vehicle safety inspection
✔️ General inspection and preventative maintenance checks

The customer came in with a slipping clutch — we found the cause, repaired it properly and took care of the other maintenance while the van was in the workshop.

One visit. Multiple problems sorted. Back to work. 💪🔧

This Hilux Workmate came into the workshop for its major service, and as always, we used the opportunity to go through the vehicle properly and stay ahead of the maintenance.

During our checks, the six-year-old battery failed the battery test, so we replaced it before it had the chance to leave the owner stranded.

We also carried out:

✔️ Major service
✔️ Spark plug replacement
✔️ Battery test
✔️ New battery fitted
✔️ Air filter replacement
✔️ Cabin filter replacement
✔️ Fuel filter replacement
✔️ Rear brake shoes adjusted
✔️ Tyre rotation
✔️ Full vehicle safety inspection
✔️ Fluid and safety checks

A major service isn’t just about changing oil and filters. It’s about checking the things that can leave you stuck on the side of the road and dealing with them before they become a problem.

This Kluger came back into the workshop for some much-needed maintenance after we provided the owner with a list of repairs from its previous service.

And there was a good reason we recommended getting them sorted…

Between services, we found the front shock absorber had completely failed, so we got stuck into the front end and worked through the rest of the outstanding repairs.

The work included:

✔️ Front shock absorbers
✔️ Strut top mounts
✔️ Lower control arms
✔️ Sway bar links
✔️ Driveshaft reconditioned
✔️ Rear brake pads
✔️ Rear discs machined
✔️ Basic service
✔️ Tyre rotation
✔️ New wiper blades
✔️ Wheel alignment
✔️ Full vehicle safety inspection

A lot can change between services, which is why our inspections and repair recommendations are important.

Another Optima back in the workshop for its usual routine maintenance — keeping the fleet moving and making sure the vehicle stays reliable day in, day out.

This time around we carried out a major service and, during our inspection, found the engine mounts were due for replacement.

The work included:

✔️ Major service
✔️ Engine mount replacement
✔️ Engine oil & filters
✔️ Full vehicle safety inspection
✔️ Fluid level and condition checks
✔️ Tyre and brake inspection
✔️ General preventative maintenance checks

Engine mounts can deteriorate gradually, causing excessive movement, vibration and unwanted stress through the drivetrain. Catching them early keeps the vehicle driving the way it should.

Another vehicle serviced, inspected and ready to get back to work. 💪🔧

Routine maintenance done properly keeps downtime to a minimum.

This Hyundai came into the workshop with a battery discharge fault while driving.

We got it in, carried out our diagnostics and found the problem pretty quickly…

⚡ The alternator had officially left the chat. 😂

But while carrying out the repair, we uncovered another issue that definitely wasn’t going to fix itself.

The injectors were leaking past the copper sealing washers, allowing combustion gases to escape around the injectors and creating an absolute mess around the top of the engine.

So rather than simply repairing the original charging fault and sending it on its way, we sorted everything we found properly.

✔️ Alternator replacement/repair
✔️ Injectors replaced
✔️ New injector seals
✔️ Rocker cover gasket
✔️ Engine service
✔️ Tyre rotation
✔️ A/C system regassed
✔️ Full vehicle safety inspection

What started as a simple battery discharge warning turned into a much more involved repair — exactly why proper diagnosis and inspection matter.
