Kariong Automotive is looking for a qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic to join our friendly, family-run workshop on the Central Coast.

✔ Monday–Friday only (8am–5pm) – No weekends

🎄✨ Merry Christmas from Kariong Automotive!

As we wrap up another big year, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our customers for your continued support. It’s been a pleasure keeping you safe on the road, and we appreciate every visit, review, and recommendation.

Our workshop will be closed from Friday, 19th December.
We will be taking a well-earned break and will reopen on Monday, 5th January 2026.

🔧⚡ Hybrid Repair Spotlight | Kariong Automotive

We recently had a Hybrid Toyota Prius towed into the workshop after the customer reported the vehicle wouldn’t start. Our technician Tyler carried out a full hybrid diagnostic evaluation, which revealed a Voltage Sensor 2 Malfunction related to the battery smart unit — the system that monitors hybrid battery health and supports regenerative braking.

A physical inspection uncovered corrosion on the Battery Smart Unit and inside the unit’s ports, confirming internal failure. To ensure the vehicle’s safety and performance, Tyler completed a full replacement of the battery smart unit, following all required high-voltage safety procedures.

🚗✨ Outcome: The Prius is now running reliably again and back with its owner.

🌬️ Not All Air-Con Problems Need a Re-Gas! ❄️

We see it all the time—when a car’s A/C stops blowing cold, most people assume it just needs a re-gas. But here’s the truth:

👉 If the system has lost gas, it means it’s leaking somewhere.
And simply re-gassing it won’t fix the underlying issue.

Common causes of weak or warm air-con:
⚙️ Faulty compressor
🧊 Blocked cabin filter
🔌 Electrical or sensor faults
💦 Blocked condenser or cooling fan issues
🔧 Leaks in hoses, O-rings, or the condenser

A proper A/C service should include:
✔️ Leak testing
✔️ Pressure checks
✔️ Inspection of hoses, components & filters
✔️ Only re-gassing if the system is sealed and healthy

📌 A re-gas is the last step—never the first.

If your air con isn’t keeping you cool, book it in and we’ll diagnose the real issue, not just top it up and send you on your way.
