Octobers Central Coast Cars and Coffee, “Car of the month”, is this 1971 Valiant R/T Charger six pack. It is a genuine numbers matching car. The owner of this unmolested Charger is the second registered owner. The car was deregistered and placed in a garage in 1988. It was acquired by the now owner in 2017 and mechanically restored but the body and paint is all original, so it is ultra reliable and driven often, including to CCC&C from Windsor on a regular basis!

********* Car of the Month *********

September 2019

Congratulations go to Greg and his immaculate 1985 model XJS Jaguar. Powered by an injected 5.3l V12. The owner Greg states the vehicle has had a complete overhaul of fuel delivery system and electrics which was the cause of engine fires in this model as the components aged and perished. It’s had a complete bare metal respray and now runs a T700 Holden 4 speed auto, replacing the original and less economical 3 speed auto. This model Jaguar won Bathurst in 85 with Tom Walkinshaw racing albeit with a manual box. Very nice to see such a beautiful vehicle with immaculate paint complimenting the Arrowroot leather trim.

With a hint of summer in the air and clear blue skies the dew covered gardens were soon awoken by the sound of rumbling motors.
Gazebos were soon erected followed by the smell of meat on hot plate mixed with a hint of exhaust and petrol.
The relieving sound of baristas soon follows and Cars and Coffee has begun.
Machines of all sorts snake their way in to the grounds bringing with them enthusiasts from all walks of life, the young and the old.
With a “special” roll in one hand and a coffee in the other, it’s time for a stroll around the 500 plus cars.
With a lap completed and confident you have seen them all, out pops another vehicle you must have missed, so you stop, check it out and head back for another coffee.
Without notice a convoy begins as 1000 plus people head off into the distance. The gardens fall quiet and the heat and flys are all that remain.
Cheers everyone till next month.......
