Thieves are continuing to target vehicles at Kalgoorlie-Boulder Airport, despite the recent installation of new security cameras.

Two break-ins were reported to police over the weekend, which comes after eight cars were targeted in a single night earlier this month.

Kalgoorlie Police officer-in-charge, Senior Sergeant Jason Blaine, urged people to ensure they do not leave valuables in their cars for what he said were "opportunistic thieves".

The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder's acting CEO David Trevaskis said the break-ins have been occurring for about three months and appear to have been carried out by juveniles.

"All the incidents have been reported to police, and airport staff have provided police with CCTV footage from the break-ins on Saturday night," Mr Trevaskis said in a statement.

"A private security firm is engaged by the city to carry out five patrols per night at the airport, and any incidents are reported immediately.

"We also encourage everyone who is parking at the airport to remove all valuables from their cars.”
