After our spectacular fire at New Year Nitro, we missed the call for Round 2.

Why? Burnt wiring. When the nervous system of the car has been affected by fire, it's not always a quick fix.

With thanks to our brilliant car chief, Steve Manning from CPWS Queensland, the new wiring loom is fire-proofed and a second loom has been built for standby.

Any guesses how many metres of wiring was needed to complete this project?

Shout Out to Steve Manning from CPWS Queensland ⚡️
He started as the go-to expert for our MoTeC data logger, and now here we are, welcoming Steve as our Car Chief!

After the Winternationals threw some serious challenges our way, Steve stepped in to help us troubleshoot and master our data logging system. He meticulously went through every wire and sensor, fixed those pesky issues, and got the logger back on our dragster. His dedication truly made a difference.

Steve is a master at creating systems and checklists. His meticulous attention to detail is such a welcome addition to our race program. Even after just one event with us—which wasn’t our best performance—Steve was eager to keep pushing forward. We're incredibly lucky to have his expertise in data logging, auto electrics, and performance analysis across various motorsport disciplines.

This weekend, Steve teams up with our Crew Chief and Tuner, Ray Ward, as Car Chief. His problem-solving skills and ability to streamline our processes are phenomenal, making him an invaluable asset to our team. We’re excited about the synergy between Steve and Ray and confident it will drive great progress at Willowbank.
