You don't need to know all about cars, you only need to ask to see the part (or at least a photo or video of it).

Any workshop can tell you your brakes are worn.
A good one will show you.

We take photos or videos of worn-out, old or broken parts, so you can see exactly what we're seeing and why it needs replacing. You'll never need to 2nd guess if that part really needs replacing or not.

And we also take photos of the old and new parts together so you can see the difference as well.

Most mechanics won't tell you this:
You shouldn't have to double-check your own invoice.

If you're second-guessing what we did, that's on us β€” not you.

Ask us anything. We'll walk you through every line, show you the old parts, explain the call we made and why.

Transparency isn't a marketing angle here. It's how the shop runs.

Your standard EV scan says "battery: OK." βœ…

But "OK" today doesn't mean OK in six months.

Most workshop scans only tell you if the battery is working right now. They don't show you how it's ageing, how individual cells are degrading, or what's brewing beneath the surface β€” the stuff a dashboard warning won't flag until it's already a problem.

Aviloo-certified testing goes deeper.
πŸ”‹ Individual cell health
πŸ“‰ Degradation patterns
πŸ” Predictive data β€” months before symptoms show

It's the difference between "your battery passed" and actually knowing what shape it's in.

Most workshops don't have access to this level of testing.
We do.

πŸ“© Message us to book an Aviloo battery test.

Did you know that your new car warranty doesn't lock you into the dealer?

Here's the myth - Service outside the dealership and you void your warranty.
Millions of owners believe it and almost none of them have checked if it's true.

For log book servicing, it isn't. You have the legal right to choose your repairer.
This isn't a loophole, it's consumer law.

So why does the myth survive?
Because some dealerships know most owners won't question it.
Every service you don't question is a service booked back in with them.

There's a real difference to understand though too.
Specialised training isn't dealer-only either. It exists at independent workshops too.

And some extended warranties sold by dealers do have their own terms and conditions, separate from the manufacturer warranty. That's the part worth checking.

Find out if your extended warranty is a manufacturer warranty or a dealer warranty and get it in writing!
Then you know exactly what it covers and what it doesn't.

An independent workshop can give you the same protection on standard servicing, with a more personal service.

Not sure if your car needs to go back to the dealer or not? Ask us. We'll give you a straight answer.

Most Mechanics Won't Tell You This: trust isn't something you're supposed to just hope for.

You ask your mechanic if the work's been done properly. They say "trust us." That's it. No photos, no old parts, no explanation. Just an invoice and a wave goodbye.

Here's the problem.
You can't check their work. You don't know what the brakes looked like before. You don't know if that part actually needed replacing. So you nod, you pay, and you hope.

At Ipswich City Mechanical, we do it differently.
We show you the worn part before we bin it.
We take photos of what we found.
We explain what needs doing and why, in plain English, before you approve a thing.

Not because we're better than other mechanics. Because we've got nothing to hide.

Next time you're at a workshop, ask for proof.
Photos.
Old parts.
A real explanation, not just a bill.
If they can't show you, that tells you something.

Book your next service with a team who shows their work, every time.

Do you think asking questions makes you a difficult customer?

We think it makes you the kind of customer we want.

Most mechanics won't tell you this - The customers who ask the most questions are usually the ones who get the best outcomes. You catch the details. You understand what's actually wrong with your car. You make the decision that's right for you, not the one that's easiest for us.

So ask us anything.
Why does the part need replacing?
What happens if you wait?
What's the cheaper option and what's the trade-off?

We'd rather explain it twice than have you drive away wondering.

Is it just us or has anyone else noticed that it seems that nobody knows about the Qld road rule about keeping in the left-hand lane unless overtaking...

Now before you come at us, here is a snippet of the EXACT Qld road rule (https://www.qld.gov.au/transport/safety/rules/road/left ) -

On multi-lane roads, if the posted speed limit is 90km/h or more, or if the road has a β€˜keep left unless overtaking’ sign, you must not drive in the right-hand lane unless you are:
overtaking
turning right
making a U-turn
avoiding an obstruction
driving in congested traffic
using a special purpose lane that you are allowed to be in.
Drivers are allowed to overtake on the left on all multi-lane roads.

So the reason we are convinced that nobody knows about this rule is the amount of cars we have seen that drive in the right-hand lane without an absolute care in the world.

Has anyone else noticed this or is it just us? Please tell us we're not the only ones....

Most mechanics won't tell you this... πŸ‘€

Here's the easiest way to know if you can trust a quote and it takes literally 10 seconds.

Ask to see the part.

Not next time. This time.

Before you approve any repair, ask the workshop to physically show you the part they want to replace. The worn brake pad. The cracked hose. The failed sensor. Whatever it is.

A shop with nothing to hide will have it in your hand in ten seconds. They'll walk you over to the car, point out the wear, and explain exactly why it needs replacing.

If they hesitate, get defensive, or tell you "trust me, it needs doing" that's your answer. 🚩

The best mechanics want you to see. Because when you understand what's actually wrong with your car, you become a better customer and a repeat one. Transparency isn't a marketing gimmick β€” it's just good business.

So next time you get a quote, try it. Ask to see the part. See what happens. βœ…
