Ok, not my story and not my photo, and it's in New South Wales, but I hope you are not doing 158 KPH in a 100 zone.
If you are and get caught, I doubt they would let you off with a warning, even if you are heading to your second day at a new job and are running late......

About 8:20am on Thursday the 10th September 2026, police attached to Eastern Suburbs HWP were driving Southbound along the Princes Highway, Cataract to attend Wollongong Local Court to give evidence when they were overtaken by a Black BYD Sedan travelling well in excess of the sign posted 100kph speed limit. Police followed the vehicle for a short period of time where they checked the vehicles speed at 158kph in the 100kph zone.

Police stopped the vehicle a short time later and spoke with the driver, a 21 year old Male from Burraneer where he informed police that he was running late for work, as it was his 2nd day. As a result the male driver was issued with a traffic infringement notice for the offence of 'Class A motor vehicle exceed speed limit-over 45km/h' which carries a $3135 fine, 6 demerit points and the drivers licence was suspended immediately for a period of 6 months.

When informed of the consequences the driver asked police "Can I have a warning?".
