Josh Statton's early life laid a solid foundation for his future endeavors in the mechanical field. Born and raised in Launceston, he completed Grade 10 in 1998 and continued his education at Launceston College. Shortly thereafter, Josh began an apprenticeship with a local firm, initially focusing on spare parts. This role quickly expanded, involving weekend fieldwork that exposed him to a wide range of mechanical systems, including diesel, electric, petrol, gas, as well as hydraulic and pneumatic systems, starting in 2000. His growing interest in mechanical systems, especially in offroad motorcycles, steered his career towards more specialized mechanical engineering. By 2005, Josh had shifted to Farm Machinery Tasmania in Longford, where he excelled as a lead technician, working on sophisticated farm equipment and gaining expertise in canbus and electro-hydraulic systems. His dedication to mastering his craft led him back to academia to earn further certifications in electrical and hydraulic systems, paving the way for his eventual rise to service manager before he ventured out on his own to start Statton Mechanical Services in 2016. On the personal front, Josh leads a fulfilling life, anchored by his roles as a devoted husband to his very supportive wife Helen and father to four daughters. Beyond his business acumen, Josh is also a cornerstone of the motorcycling community as the founder of Hard Enduro Tasmania and The Insane Ride. His dedication has significantly enriched the motorcycling community for over a decade. Balancing the rigors of entrepreneurship with family life, Josh's journey is a testament to his ability to inspire those around him through innovation in his field and commitment to family and community, nurturing a future generation of riders and engineers.
