🏁 Attention Aussie 50cc MX Families & Racers 🏁
We’d like to highlight a grey area in the MA Rule Book regarding suspension modifications in the 50cc Auto Class — a topic that came up recently at AJMX, thanks to the support and guidance from the officials.
📘 2025 Manual of Motorcycle Sport — Rule 8.27.6.1 (D, iii) states:
"Suspension, which may be modified internally but must remain OEM in appearance."
While we respect the intent of the rule, it poses a real challenge for safety and performance with limited options for suspension tuners. The OEM suspension on KTM Group 50cc bikes is limited with the stock dampening and spring system, especially at the national level.
To fit safer, more effective systems like WP XACT Pro 7500 cartridges, we often need to replace fork caps — which technically breaches the "OEM appearance" requirement, even though the rest of the fork remains OEM in structure and dimensions.
We believe the rule should focus on preserving the critical OEM components while allowing internal upgrades that enhance safety and rider development.
Suggested wording update:
• Front suspension must retain OEM fork external tubes, axle lugs, length, stroke, and diameter. Internal modifications allowed.
• Rear shock must retain OEM body, length, stroke, and diameter. Internal modifications allowed.
If you agree that our young riders deserve safer, better-performing suspension — especially at the top level — we encourage you to join us in appealing this rule for review and get into contact with M.A and let's get this rule changed for the 2026 season.

⚙️ In the meantime, we’ve developed a viable and cost-effective solution to make the WP XACT Pro 7500 kit legal under the current rule. By fitting these kits with OEM fork caps, they now comply with the requirement to retain OEM appearance.
✅ Kits are ready to install.
