🚛 Isuzu Truck DPF
This damage is caused by excessive exhaust temperatures and pressures inside the DPF.
Most commonly, this happens when a Forced Burn is conducted too often or the engine has unresolved faults such as:
• Faulty injectors
• Over-fueling
• Turbo or intake issues
• Failed or ignored regeneration events

When these issues aren’t diagnosed early, the DPF overheats, the ceramic core melts or collapses, and the filter is beyond repair.
⚠️ DPF failures are usually a symptom, not the root cause.
Correct engine diagnosis is critical before cleaning or replacement.
If your truck is requesting frequent regens, derating, or showing DPF faults — get it checked early. It can save you a very expensive repair.

Young Jado installing a DPF for a clean. The DPF is out of a Toyota Coaster, the Salvo Shuttle (Salvation Army).

The DPF came out and was super full and heavy, that's why we got the young fella doing the lifting hahaha

Is it OK though?

It is illegal to remove or tamper with a DPF or any emmission control system. It is illegal to tamper with the vehicle design, and voids Vehicle Insurance. Australian Design Regulations are contravened when you change the vehicle from the tested and approved design, individual fines are up to $15,000 and company vehicle fines up to $25,000 and the EPA are implementing similiar legislation across Australia. The Federal Government are preparing legislation enabling active and retrospective prosecution of repairers who remove a DPF from a diesel vehicle. Roadside Inspections are starting and will pick up DPF removal or tampering. Additionally when it comes to selling your diesel, if your buyer wants a Roadworthy Certificate, you will find it will have to be put back to correct design, or it may not be able to be sold.

If the vehicles emission systems are tampered with or removed then the vehicle is considered by every state authority to be unroadworthy. The fine print on your car’s insurance will state that the policy is void. (DPF AUSTRALIA)

Something a little different today. Nissan Patrol ZD30 major turbo failure flooded the intercooler with oil and debris.

A bi-directional flush and it was ready for fitment.

We commercial clean DPF's, Catalytic Converters, DOC's, SCR's and intercoolers. Clean it first before you spend too mich to replace.

Late model Subaru Forester/Outback DPF.

This Subaru DPF had some internal melting due to continued forced regenerations. Repeat exposure to the high temperatures required to carry out regeneration of your DPF can actually be super harmful.

Foced regenerations often won't fix the problem. The fault usually lies somewhere else, but the DPF shows the signs - cause and effect!

We carried out a commercial clean on an SCR from a Nissan UD truck. The SCR (selective catalyst reduction) on the UD is super susceptible to oil contamination rendering it inoperable. An efficient and cost effective method to get you back on the road quicker.
