There is now another great header-back exhaust system (high flow cat and cat-back) on the market for the TB48, the Pacemaker King Brown system. It's very nicely built, constructed of 409 stainless steel and has 10mm machined flat flanges throughout.

Pricing is $1230 plus postage ($120 off RRP). Postage prices are very reasonable and it ships direct from Pacemaker in Adelaide, Melbourne or Brisbane.

Nissan TB48DE 2000-2025+ International Definition Pack for Tuners

New lower price. Simplified FULL pack that includes ALL models and variants of the TB48DE.

This is the most full-featured definition pack available for ALL 2000-2025 Nissan TB48DE vehicles.

To name just a few inclusions:

- Full control over both the soft throttle rev limiter and fuel cut rev limiter
- Correctly displayed ignition timing trim tables being +/- from 0
- VTC and VIAS setpoint control
- Injector divisor. Not having this one for turbo tunes is a big limitation.
- MAF offset. Not having this one makes it difficult to run the newer, better Nissan MAF sensor.
- The ability to raise several torque limits that severely limit the vehicle in soft sand or up steep climbs
- High coolant temp enrichment
- Brake switch throttle cut disable
- Several exclusive maps necessary to properly rescale for turbocharged applications
- Patch to enable logging of the load position in the Fuel Compensation map, essential for quality custom tuning
- Correct O2 sensor disable patches, not just disabling of the fault codes
- A handful of other exclusive features

I had a win with a remote tune customer’s ECU today. We could not connect to the ECU. The customer had the wiring checked and no problems were found. He sent the ECU to me and it still would not connect on the bench. It turned out that part of the original waterproof coating on the PCB was missing, causing it to corrode over time. After a thorough clean, the ECU now connects and I’ve bench flashed the tune to it. Because this one has been removed from the vehicle, this will get a post-tune fuel trim check, rather than a pre-tune one.

I have always been a fan of Manta exhausts and have been a reseller for some time but was reluctant to offer their TB48 exhausts due to them being made-to-order and not kept in stock. That's about to change!

After several good chats with Manta, they have committed to making a batch of 10 exhausts and plan to keep them in stock ready to ship from here on in. It's now our job to show them that it's worth their while to keep them in stock.

Pricing is as follows:

TB48DE aluminised steel cat-back system with a centre and rear muffler plus a high flow cat: $1250 plus postage

Pacemaker TB48DE Extractors

I've been a Pacemaker reseller for some time but never did much with it... until now!

PH9550 TB48DE extractors. Includes upper piece, lower piece and assembly hardware.

$870 for just the extractors or $850 when purchased together with a tune. Pacemaker are no longer offering fixed price shipping so please send a message through this page with your suburb and postcode to confirm the shipping price.

Why I recommend Pacemaker over others:

- Closest to equal length primary runners on the market
- Longest secondary runners on the market
- 6>2>1 layout with correctly placed O2 sensor bosses

Some of the other options on the market do have nicer welds and quality of finish. The pros listed above far outweigh the cons though. If you're fussy like me, ten minutes with a die grinder goes a long way. Same goes for the included gasket. I'd recommend either cleaning and re-using the Nissan multi-layer steel gaskets or purchasing new Nissan gaskets.

Are you a tuner or dyno operator in Australia?

The TB48 GU Patrol community has a huge enthusiast base and the factory tune leaves plenty of room for improvement in a lot of different areas.

Expand your service offerings by offering tuning services for the TB48DE. They are a great platform to work with. I offer a range of services from the tuner definition pack where you do all of the tuning work all the way through to a complete remote tune service where all you need to do is dyno the vehicle and run over a few checks.

One of the services that I offer that I have not yet mentioned on this page is the base map pack. This is a full set of base maps with most of the hard work done for tuning N/A TB48s including both 91 and 95 RON options for all 3 ROM types found in Australia.

The remote tune service is $520 for the tune or $620 with NDSII and a cable, which is required for the tune. Ignition cut rev limiter is an extra $310.

This has been a common request by overseas tuner definition pack customers for a long time.

There are two firmware groups for 2017-2025 models. The confirmed ROM IDs for each firmware group are:

Note: Many flash tools report 6APEERE9 ROMs as 6APE9EE7 but they are different and they do need the 6APEERE9 definition.

Pricing is the same AUD$430 as the 2000-2016 models for the first two firmware groups. Pricing for existing customers or when purchased with at least two 2000-2016 firmware groups is AUD$100 per 2017-2025 firmware group.

Ignition cut rev limiter development will come soon if the 2017-2025 packs are popular enough. Please express your interest in this feature by purchasing a definition pack.

NDSIII (NDS3) + cable bundles are finally here!

Suits Y62 Patrol and many other late model Nissans. Cable is backwards compatible with NDSII (NDSII license required) for the TB48DE so if you don't already have NDSII and have both a Y62 a TB48 Patrol, you can use the same cable for both vehicles.

NDSII + NDSIII + cable bundle - $170 inc. GST

Pricing includes express post Australia-wide.

NDSIII is by far the most extensive electronic tool for the Y62 Patrol and it's far easier to use than dedicated scan tools. It does so much more than just diagnostics. The developer is very open to further development and I'll be chatting to him soon to see if we can get TPMS functionality added soon. 💥 TB48DE Ignition Cut Rev Limiter - Custom ECU Code 💥

After a significant investment (A development vehicle, getting that up to speed, a 3rd-party consultant, extra ECUs and a LOT of time), a world first on the 2000-2016 standard ECU, I now offer an ignition cut rev limiter for the standard 2000-2016 TB48DE ECU, available either as a remote service for vehicle owners or as a tool for tuners with unlimited vehicle use.

Flames and bangs require a significant amount of ignition re**rd compared to the ideal values for performance and exhaust gas temperature. A lot of time has been spent minimising the compromises associated with this, however, there is still a short power loss right before the rev limiter between 5150rpm and 5250rpm where the cut takes place. As part of the service, I send datalog recording instructions as a health check but also to determine your rough load value at full throttle just before the rev limiter hits. I can use this data to enable you to have close to full performance just before the limiter hits under loaded full throttle conditions but still get bangs and flames at slightly less than full throttle.

The vehicle will require an exhaust with only straight-through (perforated or louvered core) mufflers and either a very well built 100cpsi high flow cat (eg. HJS) or a decat pipe (for off-road use only of course). Attempting with a chambered muffler, stock cat, cheap cat or any cat denser than 100cpsi will likely end badly for the muffler or cat and potentially cause an exhaust blockage, leading to other issues. Common alternative names are "Megaflow" for perforated core and "Tri-flow" for chambered mufflers. Contact your exhaust manufacturer if unsure.

Ignition cut rev limiter vehicle owner offerings (requires an existing tune):

$300 inc. GST - With a new remote tune.
$400 inc. GST - Tuned by me in the past year, a fuel trim and datalog check and a custom ignition cut rev limiter.
$470 inc. GST - Tuned by me more than a year ago, all of the above plus a more extensive tune revision and update where applicable.
$570 inc. GST - Tuned elsewhere, the above service plus the addition of any worthwhile features such as light load improvements, torque limit and cut improvements or high coolant temp enrichment. Another great option is to ask your original tuner as they may be able to offer this now.

Ignition cut rev limiter tuner offerings (requires Tidy Tuning tuner definition pack):

AUD$700 (approx USD$470) total for the first two firmware groups
AUD$200 (approx USD$135) for each additional firmware group

Frequently asked question: Do I need billet oil pump gears for this?

Answer: Nobody knows the answer to exactly why oil pump gears fail, therefore, it's your call. Some say it's high revs, some say it's excessive use of the rev limiter, some say it's just luck. If you treat your vehicle well, allow the oil to fully warm up (takes a lot longer than the coolant does) before giving it a hard time and use the rev limiter quickly and subtly, many would presume that oil pump gear failure is unlikely but still possible. The same concerns apply using a factory fuel cut rev limiter excessively so this concern is not limited to ignition cut. My recommendation is that if this is a concern for you, fit billet oil pump gears first.
