The best air temperature sensors, now back in stock

Fresh batch of IAT-250 extreme range intake air temp sensors ready to go for the guys at FuelTech Australia.

We developed these for use in high temperature, extreme environments.

•1/8” NPT male thread
•250*C max calibrated range (will survive and measure higher than this)
•Glass bulb thermistor
•Filled with a special high temperature ceramic epoxy
•25mm depth to allow the probe to sit well into the air stream.
•Wire end covered in DR25 Raychem and sealed with SCL
•Tested in everything from blown alcohol big tyre cars to aspirated daily drivers

Another in-house conversion completed here at Platinum Tuning.

This customer initially came to us wanting more power from the original VQ. After a number of discussions around reliability, long-term goals, and usable performance, we come to the agreement that the Toyota 2JZ was the right foundation to build from.

The goal was OEM+. Factory integration, clean presentation with a proven performance platform underneath. On top of that, the project was completed within a tight timeframe to get to .label.invitational which made planning and ex*****on critical.

Scope of works included:
• Complete 2JZ engine and drivetrain integration.
• Full custom wiring harness designed and built in-house.
• Haltech ECU integration with full system control.
• Custom fuel system.
• Custom intercooler mounting and fabricated intercooler piping.
• Full turbo-back exhaust fabrication.
• Cooling system integration.
• Engine and gearbox mounting fabrication.
• OEM-style routing, finishing and system integration throughout.

As expected, it didn’t stay stock. The engine received a fully built head with BC components, Plazmaman inlet and coil kit, G35-1050 Garrett turbo on a 6Boost manifold, Turbosmart boost control for precise management, all controlled by a Haltech Nexus R3.

All fabrication, wiring, assembly and calibration completed in-house.

Serious builds require planning, experience and proper ex*****on — especially under time constraints.

Phillip Island IPRA Nationals done and dusted!
We ended up finishing 20th out of over 75 cars in IP which is a bloody awesome result from our small team of Tasmanians 😊

Absolutely awesome driving by Ayrton all weekend! From never driving the track before to finish in the top 20 and also top 3 in classic is such a wicked feeling! Well done mate, well deserved.

This nice supra came in for a turbo upgrade after we maxed the old one out at just over 1000hp last time we had it on the hubs.

The new G-XRace turbochargers from Garrett sure do love to party. As we managed to easily surpass the previous power figure and then add some more! With a few more changes we can definitely see some more power in the top end.
Not a bad result with a full exhaust system and 2 mufflers keeping everything quiet!
We ended up running the car again with the exhaust dropped off at the downpipe and managed to see over 1280hp at the same boost. 💪

Tuned via the Haltech ECU with multiple boost and traction control settings on the fly, flex fuel, engine protection and safety’s all in play to keep things in check.

And we’re out of here! What a great way to finish off the week with another Pb for the car. We didn’t really have a goal in mind other than completing the event so we spent the week making the car faster for each pass with what we could. With a better setup and a few changes it can go so much faster! Still not bad with the factory leaf springs and suspension. Also considering the last minute slog to get the car over here we did pretty well!
Well done to Heath for an epic week and driving the entirety of the event including 100% of the cruise portions. Hats off to you mate!

Now to get home to Tassie and get a few more cars ready to bring back over next year! Extremely excited for that!
