I say it every year that I’m gonna head
West over winter. We haven’t even really had a winter, with minimal wet days, but that lousy 10mm we got this week was enough to make this pretty easy job a challenge.

Bogged the truck numerous times trying to get material out and new material in, made a big mess, but we won in the end - client was happy with the end result.

Now for clean up of trucks and machines which will be another days work 😩.

Close to 100 tonne of screened road base from Cowwarr quarry under over 100 tonne of 40mm NDCR from Matthews Quarry spread and rolled in will give this hard standing area the stability it needs in this soft country for those cattle and grain trucks.

Hard standing area getting done at this farm to make for easy truck access to the sheds and cattle yards up out of the mud and low lying water.
Of course the heavens open up half way through scratching it out taking the job longer and a whole lot messier.

Requires about 200 tonnes of material to bring it up to the desired level which we will start carting in tomorrow

New driveway in Heyfield done today in one of the new estates that leads down to the new shed.

28 tonnes of class 3 blue metal was used after we scratched out the grass and top soil.

Nice being the only house in the area leaving us plenty of room without fences or buildings to worry about. I’m sure that will change in time.

July 31st - Pink donut day today for us. Today is 9 years since we said good bye to our only daughter and only sister to our boys. She fought fiercely till the end. I miss her everyday, especially today. Today the messages come through from friends and family who know our story. Some years I work to keep my mind busy, other years I have the day off to reflect.

Today I’m working, but still stopped by donut king to buy pink donuts in memory of Rylea.

Missed but never forgotten.

A pic mum sent through this morning I love so much I had to share.

Never take life for granted, as you don’t know what curve balls could head your way.

A couple of 300mm storm pro pipes installed on this farm to make for easier, drier access to the paddocks, irrigation drains cleaned out and some clay around a trough that was in need of some love done today in Bundalaguah.

Wonder what’s on tomorrow ?🤔

New cattle yard foundation done today,
Our client (new client😁)scratched the area out and roughly spread out 6 truck and dogs of road base with his tractor and got us in to finish it off with the posi.

We had to cart in a further 100 tonnes of
Screened road base from Cowwarr Quarry (4 semi loads), spread it with correct fall, and rolled it ready for the early stages of new cattle yard construction.

Gave this road a tickle up in town today. Carted in 7 loads (84 tonne) screened road base from Cowwarr Quarry while legendary Wallaby Bob done his thing in the grader.
Scratched out the drains. Give it a good crown, rolled on completion and will be good for another couple of years.

Finished up at the bowls club today.
Screeded, watered and whacked in the new pathway ready for the synthetic grass to be laid.
The reason for this job was to stop disease from spreading onto the green from the shelters.
