For those that know me I don’t complain about much. I generally just get on with whatever it is that needs to be done…
But this needs to be called out.
The Heyfield Transfer Station (Tip)….
We have been Heyfield residents for over 16 years. We pay our rates, provide our community with what I believe to be a fair, friendly and affordable service.
We get a few jobs where we need to do tip runs to clean up houses or blocks of land.
To keep costs down for our valued clients we break down expenses to make these jobs as affordable as possible as we realise just how expensive tip fees are these days by working out what truck, machine or trailer is required to remove rubbish to the tip the most economical way.
We can’t take our tandem tip truck to the Heyfield tip as contents of waste can’t be seen in the tipper body, which makes sense and fully understandable. So we know any load of rubbish in the tandem tipper must be carted to the Kilmany tip, and our quotes reflect this.
To keep costs down for our clients if it’s a small amount of rubbish we will use our 8x5 tandem tipper trailer and take the load to the Heyfield tip which is
Substantially cheaper than carting a tandem tipperload to Kilmany especially when diesel is $2.54.
Well this is what I’m here to complain about. One of the boys took this small 8x5 trailer load to the Heyfield tip only to be told it cannot be accepted at the Heyfield tip and must go to Kilmany…
Wtf ! A 8x5 trailer had to go all the way to kilmany and the reason was because the lady at the tip couldnt see the contents of the rubbish 🤷♂️
This job now cost us money as we didn’allow the drive all the way to kilmany to dump. What an absolute crock of s**t. No wonder there is random piles of rubbish beside our roads and in the bush.
I don’t condone this type of behaviour, however if trailers like this get told to go all the way to Kilmany because the contents of what was in the trailer couldn’t be seen - more rubbish will be dumped on the side of the road - guaranteed. So what is the Heyfield tip even there for?
