Our socials lady is back from a short break with a mountain of work and posts to catch up on… but apparently judging other people’s cooking on MKR is more important!

And judging by the state of her blackboard, she could probably start by cleaning that too!

Two years and 23,000 km since the last service… these filters had done their time!

We recommend servicing every 5,000–10,000 km or once a year, whichever comes first, depending on your vehicle and how it’s used.

Low kilometres don’t stop the clock. Oil ages, and short trips can leave moisture and fuel contamination in it because the engine doesn’t stay hot long enough to clear them. Belts, hoses and seals also deteriorate with age.

“Hardly driven” doesn’t mean “doesn’t need servicing”—the oil doesn’t know you’ve put it into early retirement!

Now we’ve had a week to get our heads around the card surcharge changes and watched everyone get a little worked up! 😂

While the surcharge has gone for customers, businesses still pay fees to accept card payments. We previously passed on a small percentage and covered the rest ourselves.

For now, we’ll absorb those fees without increasing our labour rate or pricing. Everyone’s got enough bills coming in and we know that from our own family, and so does our team.

Over the years, we’ve kept adapting and finding ways to help where we can. At the end of the day, we want to keep doing good work and looking after the people who trust us with their vehicles.

If you can pay by direct bank deposit or cash, we’d really appreciate it. It helps us keep those costs down and our pricing where it is.

2023 Toyota L/C Dual cab - 62,000km

A tow-in with snapped rear axle studs revealed a bit more trouble 👀🔧

Both rear wheel bearings had excessive movement and could be removed by hand.

New bearings, seals and mounting hardware fitted, everything correctly tensioned and an extended road test completed. Back in 500 km for a follow-up check 👌🏼

There’s more to a service than fresh oil and a new filter.

This service and vehicle inspection uncovered mixed tyre sizes, seat belts that weren’t retracting properly, inoperative wipers, an unsecured second battery and worn brake and suspension components.

We photograph what we find and prioritise the repairs, so you know what needs attention and can plan the work.

A little time on the hoist can reveal a lot!
