Bike came in today with a running issue, as you can see on the dyno graph the red lines are first run and blue lines after repairs; it wouldn't take throttle, only made 50hp, and wouldn't rev out. The air-fuel showed it was very lean. The customer had the bike fixed at a well-known repairer and was given the bike back running like this. It had a fuel system overhaul, so the first place to look was what had been touched. The fuel pump had been pulled apart, so I looked there first and found the main fuel feed from the pump was not assembled correctly. The O-ring in the picture should be on the fitting, not shoved up into the filter housing; it did not seal at all. Also, the main filter was not replaced, only the sock filter on the pump pick-up. After repairing and replacing the parts needed to fix the issues and reassembling the pump assembly, back on the dyno and look at the blue lines on the dyno graph - 153hp, that's triple the horsepower. I really don't know how these so-called mechanics can miss something like this, and if they even test-rode the bike, I'm amazed they didn't notice it stumbling when you opened the throttle. I'm a little speechless that they could give the bike back to the customer running like this.
