We are having such a great trip.
The heat has hit now with temperatures reaching 40 today!
We were more than happy to stay in the vehicles and head through to Lone Gum tonight.

When off-roading the #1 consideration is your tyre pressures!
On the stoney gravel roads we’re running around 25 psi at the front and 28 at the rear depending on the load. Some of the vehicles were coming up to about 30 to 32 psi in the rear.
When we got onto the soft sandy conditions of the Madigan Line we dropped tyre pressures down to 18 front & 22 rear.
As the track softened we adjusted the tyre pressures down a bit further to give us a little bit more traction.

The muddy sections required us to deflate our tyres to 10 psi at the front at 15 psi at the rear.
When we got to Big Red we were at 12 front 15 rear.

Doing the Eyre Creek bypass we were running around about 20 to 25 and then once we hit the QAA line we went back down to 22 and 18.

Conditions vary from corrugated to soft to firm but it is important that you continue to check your tyre pressures during the day because as the weather heats up the tyre pressures will come up.

Good Morning from Birdsville!

We had a “rest day” here yesterday (arrived Sunday night) where the vehicles were cleaned, supplies stocked, fuel and of course some of the crew enjoyed the hospitality of the Birdsville Hotel!

Keith has headed home and the rest of us are leaving Birdsville today on the second 1/2 of our double crossing.

Everyone’s having a great time.
There’s been no issues with vehicles but unfortunately we have been picking up rubbish that other people have left behind. 😡

Today we headed off from camp after a great nights sleep - let’s see how far we get!

October long weekend is our next tagalong tour to the beautiful Flinders Ranges.
We are finalising the properties we will be exploring so keep an eye out on our page as we will post details as soon as we can.
