Landcruiser came in with a complaint of a squealing noise 'that just started', new rear pads and rear rotors fitted. As you can see from the pictures the old pads and rotos are very well worn.

When this thing showed up the whole neighbourhood heard it. It shook everyone’s windows and doors. This is a Holden HZ GTS Drag car that came in to have some new hardlines made up and a fluid flush done.
Check the sticker on the booster - Tim installed this booster when he first owned Gympie Brake and Sleeve (at least 20 + years ago) and had just moved the shop up to River Rd (just down from the Mt Pleasant Hotel).

This is the inner axle seal on a customer’s front diff; customer had a complaint about oil leakage after having work completed by another mechanic - this is what Ben found when he pulled it all apart. In the first 2 photos you can see the damage caused when the inner axle seal was first installed. Ben removed the damaged inner axle seal and replaced with a new one.

A reminder to change/ check your brake fluid regularly. Clean brake fluid helps with your braking efficiency and helps with transferring your physical force from your foot on the pedal to the actual pads / shoes.

Dirty brake fluid could be a result of contamination with moisture or microscopic debris from heat cycles. Which could also cause internal corrosion.

 Did you know that Brake fluid is HYGROSCOPIC meaning they readily absorb and retain moisture from the air, most DOT 3, DOT4 and DOT 5.1 are highly hygroscopic.
 DOT 5 brake fluid is silicone based and is HYDROPHOBIC (water resistant). DOT 5 generally is not suitable for vehicles with ABS and cannot be mixed with DOT 3, DOT 4 or DOT 5.1
