That's a wrap with this install.
Very happy with how this one turned out. Engineering a mount that would tuck inside the hand rail and not foul on anything, had me maxed out on stress.
I couldn't have done it without Casey Harper the magician behind the fabrication and to my Dad who also sat with me staring at this concept artwork and making a 100 minor adjustments until it was a perfect fit.
I have kept the templates for anyone that would like to borrow them for there own installs.
Install included 36V lithium, 12/36V DCDC, 240V 36V charger, and the usual isolators, circuit breakers, voltmeters and fuses
Tamar Marine are the go to guys for all your Minnkota enquiries and are the experts in giving you spot on advice for your boat.

Another thank you to Andrew Hart for allowing me to drop by and measure up his Minnkota install at the very start of this project. That info was invaluable.

A St Helens job from last month that I was very happy with the final outcome.
650 TABS WA that wanted an anchor winch installed.
Bought the Mighty Lone Star Marine Drum Winches & Accessories GX2 from Tamar Marine and soon realised that the factory back plate wasn't strong enough to hold such a monster winch.
A quick visit to the main man Shaun Lynd at Lyndcraft Boats with a scratchy drawing, and even though he was crazy busy, he still found time to help me out. Outstanding service.
Pictures before and after really show how much better it is now and feedback has been great.

Great day done today.
Wired up the 8000lb (200A) winch from the Engine Room to the top deck for this prototype deck platform/ boat davit
Worked an absolute treat and nothing better than sitting down at water level and having a beer after a hard day's work.

I have spent a lot of time and energy with this 6M TABS transducers and perseverance has finally started to pay off.
Deep water test to go before she's finished but I'm confident after this mornings test /h that the transducer setup is spot on.

Merry Xmas from the Simmons family to all my friends, suppliers and customers.

Made it through another hectic year of 70hr weeks trying to get through as many jobs as possible, so people can continue to enjoy our beautiful waters in a safe and reliable boat.

A huge thanks to Tamar Marine for their continuing support and service throughout 2024.
Not only have they stocked my 1kw Airmar splashguards that I designed earlier this year, but genuinely provide outstanding customer service in all aspects. Without them I couldn't provide the services I do.

While I have been quiet on social media, please don't think that I have taken my foot off the pedal. It's all go every day.

I will be spending the next few weeks at the shack in St Helens working and relaxing weather dependant. I already have a pretty decent list of jobs to do, but if you get stuck on something and need help, by all means get in touch.

Well my little apprentice gave it her all today in the STEM group F1 in schools. Even making a short appearance on tonight's news. Sponsored by SMST, I'm very proud of the Norwood Primary School group and their achievements

We are grateful for the support of Queechy High School in providing expertise and facilities for our F1 in Schools teams. Our lucky students have had the privilege of visiting Queechy multiple times to view machinery and test their cars. It has been an enjoyable learning experience and excitement is building for the state competition which will be held early next term.
