Just a reminder that we are an authorised Hybrid & EV certified workshop.
Did you realise that your Hybrid or EV still needs servicing on a regular basis?

In this case, several services had been missed on this MG EV. Therefore, the coolant, brake fluid, wiper blades and other service items needed to be replaced. On this vehicle, it has 2 separate cooling systems!

Keep in mind the 12 volt battery needs attention. It is responsible for closing 'contactors' that get the High Voltage Battery up and running. The vehicle still has steering, suspension, wheel alignment concerns, air conditioning as well as a massive amount of electronics that must be checked and maintained.

These are just a few of the service items that need to be cared for on a regular basis if you want the best from your vehicle.

Just completed a repair for a customer in Victoria. He had a non-working ICC (Interior Command Centre) from a FG Falcon. That module is responsible for the audio system, heater controls, interior lights amongst other features.
Found dry solder joints had created the issue.
Was able to resolder the entire circuit board.
They drove up from Victoria to pick up the ICC & contacted me as soon as they got home & installed it. They were very happy with the successful repair. 😁

So here's a repair you don't see every day. It was a new experience for me!
This customer was told that he would have to take his pinball machine to Sydney to be repaired.
Fortunately, he contacted us and we were able to repair the machine for him.
One very happy customer!

In NSW you can be fined for tarnished or obstructed headlights.
The law states you 'must not reduce the performance of the vehicles' headlights.'
I'm sure it's not only the fine that causes issues, but the reduction in light can cause blind spots, a lack of clarity during driving and objects such as Kangaroos not quickly seen during driving, therefore creating a major possible hazard.

Just completed a key FOB repair. Switches were all gummed up & battery housing had fallen off.
Cleaned and resoldered the housing.
Used a FOB tester to check successful work completed.
You may not realise other services that Max The Mechanic offers.

This Ford Focus came in with a strong vibration, especially at idle.
Just by using a spirit level, it could be seen that the engine was leaning one way.
This model, as well as many other vehicles now-a-days, are using hydraulic engine mounts.
They use 2 separate chambers that 'float' the engine in a hydraulic fluid of glycol and water.
If this collapses, then engine drops onto the body chassis, as seen in the video and crates an annoying vibration. This can also damage other components.
Get your vehicle regularly maintained to avoid the inconvenience and extra damage to your precious car.

Hearing of many technicians refusing to service or repair Hybrids & Electric Vehicles.
Make sure you take your Hybrid/EV to an accredited technician at an authorised workshop.
This MG EV has a 400 Volt High Voltage battery. All high voltage wires are orange.
Would you play with your wall outlet of only 240vac?
Only trust accredited technicians who have received the appropriate training with the correct equipment.

Just spent 3 days in Brisbane attending the AutoCare 2025 Expo. Totally forgot to post some interesting exhibitions.
