🏁🔥 VINTAGE RC RACING – WHO'S KEEN?! 🔥🏁
We're looking at introducing a VINTAGE CLASS at our next official off-road race meeting on Sunday 25th October! 🏎️💨
We're talking old-school legends like the Tamiya Hotshot, Hornet, Grasshopper and other classic vintage RC buggies! 🤩
Whether you've got an original vintage buggy sitting on the shelf collecting dust or a modern re-release, we'd love to see these classics back out on the dirt! 👌
We're hoping to get enough interest to run a vintage class alongside our regular off-road racing, and potentially make it a regular addition to our race meetings!
💥 THIS IS WHERE WE NEED YOUR HELP! 💥
👇 COMMENT BELOW IF YOU'RE KEEN! 👇
🏁 Would you be interested in racing?
🏁 What vintage RC car would you bring?
🏁 Are you a current club member or a non-member?
🏁 Would you like to see vintage racing become a regular class?
You don't need to be a current club member to express your interest! We'd love to hear from everyone, including newcomers who have been thinking about getting into RC racing.
This is all about bringing more people into the hobby, getting those classic RC cars back on the track and having some good old-fashioned racing fun! 😎

🔴🏁 CAIRNS BUSINESSES — WE NEED YOUR HELP TO GET OUR TRACK OVER THE FINISH LINE! 🏁🔴

The photos below really show just how far the Cairns Radio Controlled Model Car Club has come with the rebuild of our off-road track at Gordonvale.

From what we started with ➡️ to where we are now.

A massive amount of work has gone into getting the track to this point, with countless hours put in by our members and volunteers, along with some fantastic support from local businesses. We’re extremely grateful to everyone who has helped us along the way.

Now we’re so close to having it finished — we just need some help getting the last bit done!

We’re reaching out to local earthmoving, civil, excavation, landscaping and transport businesses around Cairns who may be able to help us source and/or deliver some good clean red clay to finish off the track surface.

If your business has clean red clay available, knows where we could source some, or could possibly help with cartage or delivery, we’d love to hear from you. Even just putting us in contact with the right person could make a huge difference.

This is a community club built for RC racers, families, kids and newcomers to the hobby, and we want to keep improving the facility and growing RC racing here in Cairns.

📍 48 Maher Road, Gordonvale

If you can help, please message the club page. And if you know a local business that might be able to assist, please tag them below or share this post around.

Have a look at the before and after photos — we’ve come a bloody long way, and we’re so close! 🙌🏁

Let’s get this track finished, Cairns! ❤️

🏁 OFF-ROAD TIMED PRACTICE DAY – THIS SUNDAY! 🏁
The weather definitely hasn’t been playing nice with us lately 🌧️🤦‍♂️, but this weekend is looking good, so it’s time to get wrenching, charge those batteries and get the cars ready! 🔧🔋🏎️
Cairns Radio Controlled Model Car Club will be holding an Off-Road Timed Practice Day this Sunday. We’ll have the timing system running, so it’s a great chance to get plenty of laps in, work on your setup and see how your lap times improve throughout the day.
📅 Sunday 11/10/26
⏰ 9:00am – 3:00pm
📍 48 Maher Road, Gordonvale
We’d especially love to see some new faces come down! 👋 Whether you already have an RC car, are thinking about getting into the hobby, or just want to see what RC racing is all about, everyone is welcome.
Come check out our new off-road track layout, meet the crew and have a chat about what’s involved in getting started in racing. There’ll be plenty of members around happy to help with cars, setups and any questions.
🥤 Cold drinks available throughout the day.
Bring your RC, spare parts and gear and come enjoy a relaxed day at the track. No racing experience needed — all skill levels welcome!
See everyone trackside Sunday! 🏁🏎️💨
