JOIN THE PROYACHT TEAM
We're expanding our Engineering team due to unprecedented demand for our services, so we're looking for an experienced Marine Engineer / Fitter & Turner to join us asap.

Established in 2006, we specialise in high-quality refit, repair and maintenance work on luxury vessels. Our reputation has been built on superb workmanship, reliability, technical skill and word-of-mouth recommendations.

We are now entering an exciting growth phase, with continued investment in our engineering workshop, technology and capability, including a CNC lathe, milling machine and 3D printing capability. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced tradesman who wants to be part of a professional business that is expanding at a rapid pace.

This is not repetitive production work. You will be working on high-quality luxury boats across varied engineering, mechanical, driveline, hydraulic, plumbing and machine shop tasks. No two days are the same, and the role requires a tradesman who can think, diagnose, solve problems and produce excellent work under real-world marine industry conditions.

You will work in a fully equipped workshop and machine shop environment, while also carrying out vessel-based work across refit, repair, installation and maintenance projects.

Your work will include:
Marine engineering, servicing and installations
Driveline inspection, repair, alignment and associated work
Fitting, turning, machining and fabrication tasks
Hydraulic systems, stabilisers and lifting equipment
DC electrical and marine plumbing work within your skill set
Diagnosing faults and developing practical repair solutions
Working from drawings, measurements and technical information
Supporting refit and maintenance projects on luxury vessels
Maintaining a clean, professional and safe work environment
Working to deadlines without compromising workmanship

The successful applicant will have:
A recognised trade qualification as a fitter and turner, marine engineer, diesel fitter, mechanical fitter or similar
Strong hands-on experience in marine engineering, mechanical fitting or related trades
Sound knowledge of marine systems, driveline arrangements and vessel repairs
Practical machining experience, ideally including lathe and milling work
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability
A professional approach to workmanship, safety and client expectations
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good organisation, initiative and attention to detail
The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Their own professional trade tools
Experience with CNC machining, milling, 3D printing, hydraulics, stabilisers, vessel systems or luxury marine refit work will be highly regarded.

We offer:
Excellent remuneration based on skill, experience and value brought to the business
Stable full-time work in a respected marine company
40–45+ hours per week
Half-day Fridays
Varied, interesting and technically challenging work
A steady pipeline of luxury vessel refit and repair projects
A close-knit, experienced and supportive team
A professional workshop environment with investment in modern equipment and technology
The opportunity to grow with a business that is actively expanding its capabilities

We are a generous employer and are prepared to pay very well for a capable, reliable and highly skilled person.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden and heartbreaking passing of our wonderful office manager, Zena. Zena was the glue that held our team together through good times and bad. She had our backs and fought our corner every day. Her unwavering loyalty and support helped make Proyacht the success it is today, and her tragic death has left a huge hole in our team. We continue to pass our love and support to Zena's family and her close-knit Jacobs Well community, who today celebrated her life in a huge and wonderful gathering to raise funds for her family and to express their shared grief and deep love for her. It was a beautiful testament to who she was and what she meant to us all. We also express our deepest thanks to the wonderful staff of the Gold Coast University Hospital ICU who gave Zena all their expertise and attention during the most difficult and worrying week many of us have experienced. Rest in peace, Zena. Thank you for everything you did for us, the team and our customers. We will miss you forever. You were a legend.
