Before heading back home, we had the pleasure of catching up with a fantastic group of enthusiasts in Double Bay, Sydney, for a Sunday morning breakfast and drive.

The calibre of both the people and the vehicles was truly next level. From incredible machinery to genuine conversations, it was another reminder that no matter where Thunderbolt Run travels, the passion for cars and the friendships they create bring like-minded people together.

When people see Thunderbolt Run, they often see the supercars, the incredible roads, and the destinations.

What they don't always see is this.

A group of people sitting around a breakfast table, sharing stories, laughing, making new friendships, and creating memories together.

Today was our first Sydney event, and what made me proud wasn't the cars. It was seeing the exact same community spirit that has made Thunderbolt Run so special in Queensland.

No matter where we go, the passion remains the same.

A passion for adventure.A passion for connection.A passion for bringing good people together.

From day one, Thunderbolt Run was never built to be about horsepower, status, or ego. It was built around people. Creating experiences that inspire, friendships that last, and a community where everyone feels they belong.

As the founder, seeing complete strangers arrive in the morning and leave as friends will always be my favourite part of what we do.

Looking forward to our second Sydney Supercar Driver, Saturday 4th of July different route, same heart.

Not every part of Thunderbolt Run is champagne, supercars, incredible roads, and luxury destinations.

What most people don’t see are the early starts, long hours behind the wheel, fuel stops, weather challenges, route planning, radio testing, venue coordination, and the countless details happening behind the scenes long before an event begins.

Today we arrived in Sydney safe and well and are already preparing for tomorrow morning’s 6:30am practice run. Before a single entrant arrives on Saturday, every route is driven, every location checked, and every detail is reviewed to ensure the experience runs professionally, safely, and seamlessly.

The practice run isn’t just a drive. It’s about confirming timings, checking road conditions, verifying destinations, testing communications, and making sure everything is exactly where it needs to be for event day.

Then on Saturday, 6 June, more than 50 entrants will join us for our very first Sydney Thunderbolt Run Supercar Driver event.

We’re incredibly excited to meet our new Sydney Thunderbolt family and begin building the same close-knit community that has made Thunderbolt Run such a success in Queensland.

A lot of work happens before the photos, before the social media posts, and before the engines fire into life on event morning. But that’s what it takes to deliver an experience our entrants will remember for years to come.

The adventure begins...

Today, we hit the road for Sydney as Thunderbolt Run prepares to host our very first Sydney Supercar Driver this Saturday morning, with more than 50 entrants joining us for what promises to be an incredible experience.

Over the past few years, Thunderbolt Run has grown into one of Australia's most recognised supercar communities. What started in Queensland has evolved into sold-out events, lifelong friendships, unforgettable adventures, and a community that many now proudly call family.

While we're incredibly excited about our international expansion and the opportunities that lie ahead, what excites me most about this weekend is something much simpler — meeting new people, creating new friendships, and welcoming more passionate car enthusiasts into the Thunderbolt community.

The success of Thunderbolt Run has never been about the cars alone. It's about bringing together like-minded people who share a passion for driving, adventure, connection, and creating memories that last a lifetime.

🏁 Great morning at Queensland Raceway today!

Always fantastic catching up with my good friend Kim Morgan-Short, an incredibly talented Porsche race car driver and a familiar face at Queensland Raceway. Kim’s passion for motorsport is infectious, and it’s always great seeing her back where she belongs—behind the wheel.

I also had the pleasure of spending some time with rugby league legend Wendell Sailor. What a genuine bloke. Larger than life, great sense of humour, and always happy to have a chat.

It was great having the Porsche Thunderbolt Run pace car parked next to another one of our sponsors GT Collective our very good friend Kevin Vedelago

Of course, the Thunderbolt Run Porsche was right at home in pit lane today, soaking up the atmosphere and enjoying a few laps around the circuit. There’s something special about spending time with great people, great cars, and being surrounded by the sights, sounds, and smells of motorsport.

Days like today remind me why I love this community so much. Different walks of life, different stories, but all united by a shared passion for cars, motorsport, and the friendships that come with it.

It’s never just about the cars.

It’s the early alarms, the empty roads, the sound of engines coming to life, and sharing it all with like-minded people who simply love driving.

This morning’s impromptu drive featured a stunning collection of Ferraris and Porsches before i made my way to QR Raceway.

A perfect reminder that some of the best memories happen when you least expect them.
