With a market value payout, your insurer may only pay what the car is worth at the time of a total loss, which could be less than what you still owe your lender.

You don't need a safety certificate to advertise your car in Queensland, but you do need one to transfer the registration into the buyer's name. It's the seller's obligation, and the fine for getting it wrong is over $700.
