Giving up wasn’t in our blood, and judging by the fight, it wasn’t in the marlin’s either.

Hooked up off Cairns, Australia, and suddenly it was a battle of determination. Screaming reels, explosive jumps and a marlin that had absolutely no intention of making things easy.

The 60th Anniversary Cairns Black Marlin Tournament is almost here, bringing together boats, crews and anglers for one of the biggest events on the game fishing calendar.

For Mauna Kea, this one means a little more.

Twenty years after winning the 40th Anniversary tournament, we’re heading back north to be part of the 60th.
