🔧 What’s in the Workshop today!

Another busy week at Sixty Mile Marine — multiple boats in the workshop and plenty of jobs happening offsite.

The team is flat out getting through the list and doing our best to get everyone back on the water before the weekend! ⚓️🚤

🔧 Diagnosed & Fixed

This 37ft Sunrunner powered by twin MerCruiser 6.2L 350hp engines came in with a fuel system fault, but with very little information pointing us towards the actual cause.

We started with the basics, checking fuel pressure and other engine vitals before taking the boat out for a sea trial with our diagnostic equipment connected.

Under load, the data started telling the story. The port bank was showing considerably higher fuel trims, with the injectors being commanded to stay open longer to compensate.

Rather than throwing parts at it, we swapped the oxygen sensors between banks and sea trialled again. The abnormal fuel trim followed the sensor — confirming the culprit.

We returned with new oxygen sensors, fitted them and carried out a final sea trial to verify the repair.

✅ Fuel trims matched across both banks
✅ Injector pulse widths matched
✅ Fuel system fault resolved
✅ Final sea trial passed

🔧 WHAT’S IN THE WORKSHOP WEDNESDAY 🔧

Gearboxes everywhere this week!

We’ve currently got 3 boats in the workshop undergoing complete gearbox reseals, along with plenty of servicing, repairs and diagnostics keeping the team busy.

Drives out, gearboxes stripped, seals replaced and everything thoroughly inspected before going back together.

⚓ JEZABELLE | Mustang 3500 Hardtop

Final sea trial following a complete annual service and some additional maintenance and repairs.

Engines and drives checked under load, with all temperatures and pressures within specification. A brief wide-open-throttle run to finish off the testing — everything performing perfectly. 👌

A bit of a full-circle moment with this one too. We actually used to look after JEZABELLE many years ago when we were based down in Sydney, a few owners ago. Funny how boats find their way back to you — and all these years later, we’re still on the tools keeping this one running as it should!

MUSTANG 3500 – JEZABELLE

Jezabelle in the workshop for some serious maintenance ⚙️

✅ Complete annual service on engines & drives
✅ New input shaft
✅ New gimbal bearings
✅ New bellows
✅ New trim sender
✅ And the list goes on…

Plenty of work going into this Mustang to get her serviced, sorted and ready to get back on the water. 🛥️

🔧 37 Sunrunner | Twin 6.2L 350HP MerCruisers

This Sunrunner came in with fuel trim fault codes showing on one engine.

With the fault only presenting under load, we headed out for a sea trial to witness the fault firsthand — something that simply couldn’t be replicated or properly diagnosed tied up at the dock.

Once we confirmed the fault on the water, we swapped the oxygen sensors from bank to bank and continued the sea trial. The problem followed the swapped sensor, confirming the O₂ sensor as the culprit.

New sensors ordered and we’ll be back next week to fit them and carry out a final sea trial to verify the repair. ⚓️

Sometimes the best diagnostic tool is getting the boat out on the water.

rom seized 5.7L to a complete new lease on life 🔥⚓️

This 2005 Sea Ray 240 Sundeck came to us after the original 5.7L MerCruiser corroded a hole through the cylinder head, filled the engine with seawater and ultimately seized solid.

After running through the options with our client, he decided to do it properly — complete repower package.

🔧 New MerCruiser 6.2L 300HP MPI
⚙️ New Bravo drive & transom assembly
📱 New VesselView replacing the faulty original gauges
✨ Engine bay & bilge completely re-flowcoated
🛋️ Complete new upholstery
🌊 New SeaDek flooring

The result? A 2005 boat that now feels like a 2025 boat. New power, new driveline, modern instrumentation and a completely refreshed interior.

A good hull doesn’t always need replacing — sometimes it just needs the right repower.
