Something a bit different, previously had a changed a engine over for this customer on their 2000 GT forester, they were that impressed and happy with the workmanship they asked me if i could do the swap on their 2.8 Colorado.
I had previously removed and installed this engine a couple of weeks back, today was about wiring and plumbing everything up.
Safe to say I don’t want to work on one of these again!!!!!

Called put to fix an oil leak on this XT forester found the oil drain gasket and oil drain hose required changing. Turbo removed and new parts installed. ✅

Wrx turbo has left the chat. This car was dumping excessive amounts of oil down the exhaust system.
Cheap china turbo, fun for a short time.

Wrx stripped down, someone has been in here before and a lot of parts missing and incorrectly fitted or broken, time to make this thing like new again.
Issues found:
• Missing timing belt cover bolts
• over tightened timing belt cover bolts so all the captive nuts rounded off.
•front power steering bracket bolts rounded off and will require the block thread repaired.
• Missing bolt out of the thermostat housing
• incorrect length bolt used on the hydraulic timing belt adjust this bolt nearly went through the block it was that long!!
• Failed turbo
• PVC cross over line on the intercooler missing and hoses not connected to anything
• All PVC hoses damaged cooked and cracked
• multiple vacuum lines missing not connected cause air leaks
• Turbo down pipe missing nuts and loose.
• No coolant used in the system drained about 1 liter of water
• Oil smelt Burt and black.
• Turbo up pipe rattling and held with a hose clamp.
• silicone used when sealing the head gasket.
• Spark plugs rusted and damaged
•Blow off valve has not been blanked open to atmosphere
• Clutch is showing signs of wear
• Flywheel has heat and crack marks
•Incorrect rocker cover bolts used (bolt and washer!)
•Missing the bonnet stay!!





Wrx in for some love. This Impreza is burning an excessive amount of oil time to strip down and investigate.

Back to the STI build after a family holiday. All built back up and ready for the run in steady km’s. This is a car I do not want to see again in a hurry unless it is for standard maintenance. Some nice upgraded parts put in there while it was apart and replaced all the worn hardened PVC hoses.

Day 2 on the sti strip down. This STI has been hot, sent the heads away to the machine shop to checked over, time to measure everything up and make sure everything is still within spec. A fair few hoses are cracked and damaged for the age of the car so these will be getting changed while apart. These gaskets were definitely blown.
