This is a lot more common than you think, let’s start the conversation.
💙 WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY 2026
Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change.
Today is World Mental Health Day, a reminder of how important it is to talk openly about mental health, listen to each other’s stories, and create spaces where people feel safe to share their experiences without fear of judgement.
For me, this message is at the heart of Ride with Anxiety. 🏍️💗
Anxiety can look different for everyone. It can be the nervousness before a ride, the fear of getting something wrong, the overwhelming thoughts that tell us we aren’t good enough, or the battle between wanting to do something we love and feeling held back by fear.
I know firsthand what it feels like to experience anxiety while riding a motorcycle. As a psychologist, I also understand how powerful it can be to share our experiences, feel understood, and learn that we aren’t alone.
💙 This is why sharing our stories matters.
When we talk honestly about our experiences, we help others recognise that what they’re feeling is okay. We challenge the stigma around anxiety and mental health. We create opportunities to learn from each other and discover strategies that can help us move forward.
Through Ride with Anxiety, I want riders to know that:
🏍️ You aren’t the only one who experiences anxiety.
💗 You don’t have to hide your fears or pretend to be confident.
💬 Talking about anxiety is a sign of awareness, not weakness.
🌱 Confidence can grow, even when anxiety is part of the journey.
🤝 You don’t have to navigate the journey alone.
One of the most powerful things we can do is listen to someone else’s story without immediately trying to fix it. Sometimes, knowing someone understands is the first step towards change.
And this goes beyond riding. Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, grief, stress, burnout, or a difficult time in your life, your experience matters. Your voice deserves to be heard.
Real voices create real connection. Real stories help break down stigma. And listening can help create real change. 💙
Today, I encourage you to check in with yourself and the people around you. Ask someone how they’re really going. Make space for an honest conversation. Share your own story if you feel comfortable doing so.
And if you’re a rider who has experienced anxiety, I’d love to hear from you.
💬 Has talking about your anxiety or hearing someone else’s story helped you? What do you wish more people understood about anxiety and mental health?
Let’s keep sharing, listening and supporting each other — on and off the bike.
Because riding with anxiety doesn’t mean giving up on the things we love. And living with mental health challenges doesn’t mean we have to face them alone. 💙🏍️
