Quality Control Inspection – Passed with Flying Colours ✅🔧

Today’s workshop quality control inspection was carried out by our toughest auditors yet – the boss’s daughters after school! 👧👧

Following the replacement of the clutch, rear main engine seal, rear engine mounts, and several other repairs, they were on hand to make sure every nut, bolt and component met the highest standards before this truck heads back to work.

After a very thorough inspection under the truck, asking all the important questions, and keeping a close eye on the mechanic, we’re pleased to report the job has officially passed QA approval! 😄

It’s great to share a bit of workshop life with the next generation and show them what goes into keeping Australia’s trucks on the road.

Another one back on the road 👌

This Western Star 4800 with a Cummins ISX came in throwing a turbo speed sensor fault code after previously being elsewhere for repairs relating to the same issue.

After carrying out our testing procedures and checking resistance values across the sensor circuit, we determined the turbo speed sensor itself had failed.

Removed and replaced the faulty sensor, completed the required test procedures to clear the fault codes, and confirmed correct operation.

Now this Western Star is back out doing what it does best — working hard 💪🚛

Something a little out of the ordinary for the LW Diesel crew 👌⚓

We swapped the workshop floor for the marina this week, carrying out inspections on these twin Caterpillar C12 ACERT engines aboard this serious sportfisher.

Even though it’s not every day we’re working in a yacht engine room, with big horsepower diesel engines like these we were right at home.

From trucks to marine, if it a CAT or Cummins, we’ll keep it moving 🔧.

Big one in the workshop this week. This K200 with a Cummins ISX EGR came in needing some love and quickly turned into a full out-of-frame rebuild. 🔧

✅ New short block assembly
✅ New cylinder head
✅ New camshafts
✅ All new rocker levers and shafts
✅ Engine brake overhaul kit
✅ Full set of injectors
✅ New water pump
✅ New clutch

Safe to say there’s not much on this engine that isn’t brand new now. Massive effort from the crew getting this one stripped, rebuilt and ready to head back to work. 👌🚛
