We had this beautifilul VE clubby in for a retune and checkup as the owner wasnt very happy with the drivability and questioning the power output from the previous workshop. I initially asked the owner to return and give the shop a chance to fix it, but he continually instructed me, he had already tried.
This SBE LS3 was equipt with a 2650, full 3inch system, blower camshaft and a eflex system with duel fuel pump module.
Previously being told it made 602rwkws in current state, i gave it a run before touching anything, and not too surprising, it fell abit short (559kws). This isnt uncommon, we see over inflated numbers all the time. customers need to realise, the dyno is just a tool, i believe ours is used correctly and shows correct numbers that we see at the race track. Dyno figures dont win races.
After making an initial power pull, i identified a few items i wasnt happy with, 1 major item was enguaging the stock lockup clutch being engauged while at WOT. With a stock convertor, this may survive a dyno pull or 2 at this power level, but its a big NO from me.ππ
It also showed a very erratic fuel mixture, lead me to believe some laziness in the fuel map.
I decided to wipe the system back to the original operating system, start clean and start again.
Results speak for themselves. Not only did we gain more power (wirhout convertor lockup lol) and more torque, we also gained the drivability the customer wanted.
END RESULTS
E75 - 584KWS FROM 559KWS
E25 -534KWS FROM 514KWS
