🔥 Too Hot to Touch? Your Trailer Is Trying to Tell You Something.

This trailer came into the workshop after the owner noticed the wheel hub was getting extremely hot.

After pulling it apart, the problem was obvious...

❌ Grease had dried out and lost its lubricating properties.
❌ Bearings were running hot.
❌ The seal had started leaking.
❌ Bearing surfaces were beginning to wear.

A wheel bearing should run with clean, fresh grease. Once the grease dries out or breaks down, metal starts rubbing on metal, generating heat.

If ignored, it can lead to: ⚠️ Bearing failure ⚠️ Damaged stub axle ⚠️ Wheel seizure ⚠️ In the worst case... the wheel can part company with the trailer.

A quick tip:
After towing for 20-30 minutes, carefully place the back of your hand near each trailer hub (don't grab it if it's hot!). They should all be a similar temperature.

If one hub is noticeably hotter than the others, it's worth getting it checked before your next trip.

🚗 Where Has Your Engine's Power Gone?

Think of your engine like your lungs.

Now imagine trying to breathe through a straw.

That's exactly what's happening here.

These photos show the inside of an intake manifold removed from a customer's vehicle. Over time, soot from the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) system combines with oily vapour from the crankcase ventilation system, forming thick carbon deposits.

The result?

❌ Reduced airflow into the engine
❌ Loss of power and throttle response
❌ Increased fuel consumption
❌ Rough idle and hesitation
❌ Potential engine warning lights and expensive repairs

This build-up doesn't happen overnight—it slowly accumulates over thousands of kilometres, so many drivers never notice the gradual loss in performance.
