Yesterday’s Scania R620 breakdown in Bakers Hill

Coolant pipe failed. Wrong pipe was supplied so had to cut out piece of nylon tube and use heater hose to get it mobile again and back home and avoid a trip back to kewdale for parts.

Good reminder to not throw out all the random crap floating around in the utes toolbox’s.

Found a constipated air dryer during a service. Air tanks full of water and dryer wasn’t purging due to blocked silencer...

Mercedes Actros - OM473LA (dd16’s German counterpart)

Came to us on the back of a tow truck with the engine already half disassembled and cylinders 5 and 6 liner seats fretted

- Liner seats cut
- New cylinders and bottom end bearings
- New cylinder head
- Replaced air compressor due to passing oil into air system

With the OEM only offering a new replacement engine. We were able to offer a more cost effective option by repairing the liner seats in frame and bring the truck back into service.
