When I consider the insecurity of the employment situation for sessional academics, particularly at VU, where we are employed month by month, I feel really sorry for the landlords who are going to miss out on their rental income in the months we are callously cast aside, regardless of qualification or contribution to the courses from which we are cut. These landlords will miss out on that income!! As many of the full-time, privileged academic staff are landlords themselves, you'd think they'd have a bit more consideration for these helpless invisible victims of this oppressive system!!
