DARWIN TURF CLUB SOCIAL MEDIA HOUSE RULES
Last Updated: 9 January 2023
We’ve set some rules for our social media channels to make sure they are positive and useful for our community. Monitoring
By using or posting on the Darwin Turf Club (DTC) social media channels, you are accepting the DTC ‘house rules’. We developed these rules for use of our social media channels to ensure they remain a posit
ive experience for all members. Hours of operation
We welcome your comments and questions on our social media channels. Before contacting us via social media, you might like to search our DTC website to see if your question has already been answered. Alternatively, you can contact us on 08 8923 4222 or visit the DTC administration building open from 8:30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Appropriate content
We ask our DTC Facebook communities to apply a common-sense approach when:
• making comments or responding to posts
• posting information to our wall, including photos
• commenting underneath a DTC post
• tagging the DTC account in a wall post
We moderate our DTC social media pages. Any comments, links, photos and videos deemed inappropriate will be monitored and deleted if necessary. If misconduct is deemed severe enough, the offending account/s will be deleted and blocked from the DTC page. What is inappropriate content? Inappropriate content includes information that is:
• inflammatory
• defamatory
• Racial vilification
• Acts that threaten violence
• commercial or promotional
• spam
• overtly party political
• encouraging activities illegal in Australia
• considered bullying and harassment
• transgressing copyright or intellectual property (IP) laws
• compromising a person’s privacy or personal details (for example, a phone number). Record keeping
We record all information posted to the DTC social media channels and use that information for:
• administering the channels
• record keeping
• considering and/or addressing any comments made. No attempt will be made to further identify social media subscribers except where requested and authorized by law.
