Clear visibility through your tailgate glass is an important part of safe driving. Old decals, stickers, fading adhesive, or damaged glass can reduce visibility and make reversing or checking traffic behind you more difficult — especially at night or in poor weather conditions.
During this rear tailgate glass replacement, we also professionally removed the customer’s old decal at no extra charge to help restore a cleaner appearance and improve rear visibility.
To safely remove old decals from automotive glass, the process needs to be done carefully to avoid scratching or damaging the surface. Our process includes:
• Using a single-edge razor blade carefully and at the correct angle to lift old adhesive and vinyl safely• Applying isopropyl alcohol to help break down leftover adhesive residue• Using clean microfiber cloths to safely wipe and polish the glass surface without causing damage
A properly installed rear tailgate glass not only improves visibility, but also helps maintain the safety and integrity of your vehicle.
If your rear glass is cracked, difficult to see through, or covered with old adhesive residue, it’s a good idea to have it inspected before the issue gets worse.
