On Sunday we had a great day racing the final round of the Festival State Cup Series in Monarto. Both Oliver and Logan drove consistently well all day. Logan finished 3rd in the final after cutting the fastest lap of the race, taking the lead but getting out manouvered in a tight finish. Oliver gained 2 positions in the final finishing 7th.

Thanks to the officials for making the event possible and to The Go Kart Club of SA for hosting a great event.

We ended another busy week with this beauty! FPV F6 Tornado 🌪️ in for a service/check over and to refit the original wheels with a pair of new Maxxis tyres.
The original wheels had just undergone a refurb, so we took extra care when fitting the tyres to them!
This beast is also up for sale, drop us a DM if you're interested 😄

Yesterday we had the pleasure of watching/supporting the .motorsport team for round 3 of the Festival State Cup. Both Logan and Oliver drove very well and it was awesome to see them out on the track, mechanical gremlins aside it was a solid effort from both boys all day! Thanks for a fun day, we look forward to the next one 😃

Blink and you'll miss it! 2024 absolutely flew by for us, Echunga Automotive continued to grow and we were lucky enough to work on some very nice cars 🥰

Toyota Prado 120 series in the workshop last week. This vehicle presented to us with a check engine light on and limp mode activated.
Some diagnostic work led us to the turbochager being the cause of the problem, with the rear turbine wheel damaged and the electronic actuator faulty, a genuine replacement was ordered to rectify the initial fault.
Along the way, a large amount of repairs and preventive maintenance were carried out.
We also got the go ahead from the customer to send the vehicle off to have it tuned/checked over on the dyno, gaining a bit more power and torque from the 1KD engine!

Work carried out included:

▪️ Safety inspection and service
▪️ Sump removal and then reseal, to allow inspection of oil pick up
▪️ Turbocharger replacement with all genuine gaskets
▪️Water pump and timing belt replacement
▪️Front engine oil seals all replaced
▪️Radiator replacement and cooling system flush
▪️Thermostat and radiator hoses replaced
▪️Catch can fitment
▪️Fuel filters and air filter replaced
▪️Custom dyno tuning to increase power and torque for greater towing capabilities

Carrying out preventive maintenance is a very important practice when it comes to these type of cars, we go to great lengths to make sure our customers feel confident with their investment, and this one's ready for it's next trip away 😄

First post of the year 😆 apologies for the lack of content, the page has taken a back seat whilst the workload has been high!

Here's a lovely old Holden 48-215 that we recently completed a full safety inspection and some repair work on.

Rolling off the Woodville factory floor all the way back in 1948, it proved to be a popular release and a first for the Holden/GM brand in Australia. A piece of history this one!

This old classic had been locked away in a shed for 10+ years, with the customer aiming to return it to our roads in the not too distant future.

We got to work and carried out the following:

▪️Complete inspection of vehicle
▪️Battery replacement
▪️All fluids changed
▪️Radiator and complete cooling system overhaul
▪️Air filter fitted to replace old oil bath filter
▪️Fuel tank drained/cleaned/fuel filter and hoses replaced
▪️Fuel/Vaccum pump overhaul
▪️Carburetor overhaul
▪️Rear muffler replacement
▪️Engine tune up/health check

Now ready for it's next stage of the restoration process, we look forward to seeing this one out on the road again soon.
