🏁 BDK Racing Takes Out Round 2! 🏆

After a super successful start to Round 2, we kicked things off with a race win in Race 2. Unfortunately, mechanical issues struck in Races 3 and 4, which saw us finish 5th and then fight back to secure 3rd place in the 10-lap feature.

While it wasn’t the clean sweep we were chasing, we’re proud to come away with the overall Round 2 victory and some valuable championship points.

📸 Trophy in hand and another round in the books! 🏆🔥

Massive thanks to the team at the Shell V-Power Motorsport Park for putting on a great weekend,
Thanks to the entire committee Australian Super Trucks for getting us to the big stage. Everyone’s efforts are greatly appreciated

This one might just take the top spot for the coolest vehicle we've had through the doors. BDK Racing brought us their C13-powered race truck for some preventative maintenance, and we had an absolute ball getting our hands on it. A huge thanks to the team at BDK Racing for trusting us with something this special, it's not every day you get to work on a machine like this. Good luck to Dale & family for the upcoming race this weekend at Shell V-Power Motorsport Park.

Another in-chassis rebuild wrapped up, this time for Northbound Commercial Training . This C12-powered workhorse made the trip in from Port Lincoln with a suspected head gasket failure, but once we stripped the top end down it quickly became clear there was more going on. Cracks in the cylinder head and low liner heights meant what started as a suspected top end job turned into a full engine overhaul.
All part of the job when you start pulling things apart and find what's actually been hiding under the surface. Back together now and ready to earn its keep.

This 1969 Bedford J1 flatbed came in for some love and we were happy to have her. What makes this one interesting is what's been done underneath, a VN SS 5L V8 and a Turbo 700 swap powering it. A bit of a unique setup on an already cool old truck. Always enjoy seeing builds like this come through the doors.

Sometimes a service turns up more than you bargain for. During inspection we found a missing right hand rear drive brake pad and a delaminating steer tyre, neither of which we were willing to let slide. The customer was called straight away and the truck was grounded until repairs were completed. This is exactly why regular servicing matters. At Wildcat Diesel, we look after our customers and the community they share the road with.

Another engine rebuild wrapped up. This time, an old school '86 R686RST Mack. Originally came with an E6-300 but she's been running an EA7-350 swap for years, trouble is none of the donor vehicle info was ever recorded. Bit of a head scratcher figuring out exactly what we had at first. Tore it down, cleaned it up, and got to the bottom of it, and pieced her back together with an in chassis rebuild kit. Another oldie going back on the road a bit fresher. A big shoutout to Garnet from ITR for supplying a majority of the parts.

Our favourite lady trucker's mighty LTL9000 in for some TLC. Service ticked off, re-sealed the fuel pump body, and updated the fuel ratio controller while we had it in and gave this old girl a bit more roar. Thanks to Natrad Wingfield for repairing the radiator leak in such sort notice. Another classic back doing what she does best.

Full team effort for this engine transplant on a PK265 Nissan UD. Nothing beats hands-on experience for teaching the apprentices than all getting stuck in together.

G'day everyone.
I'm running a bit late with my start of year post, but we've absolutely hit the ground running this year. We've been flat out since reopening the shop at the beginning of the month. From tune-ups and servicing to engine transplants and rebuilds, we've certainly got our hands full at the moment. If this is any indication of what's to come, we're looking forward to a ripper year again.
