Our reports can be used to check your weights against Vin plates on your vehicle/trailer to make sure you are travelling safe and legally compliant. Weighforward can also provide certificates with Tare weights for the customer to supply the Registrar for trailer registration purposes.

An early 7.00am start in Devonport today to weigh for a client we have previously weighed.

Same slide on camper however a new ute. This time it's a brandnew Mitsubishi Triton single cab, alloy today to keep the weight down and a pre registration GVM/GCM upgrade completed.

Underweight and ready for the last few modifications to be completed.

We do love slide on campers however weights are a huge issue with exceeding GVM and rear axle load limits.

This weekend Saturday 29/8/26 and Sunday 30/8/26 we are weighing in Shearwater, Devonport, Turners Beach and Railton.

This week Weigh Forward Tasmania's most experienced Mobile Caravan and Vehicle Weighing is weighing in all areas from Launceston to Wynyard. Hobart and East Coast is booked for next week. Our professional mobile office comes to you 7x days a week.
Be educated in towing safe and receive your accurate weight report for compliance.

Sadly we had a call from a couple that had been previously weighed with some swaying concerns. The advice given to them (not from us) was... add some concrete pavers to the tunnel boot to increase ball weight.. 🤣 This is not good advice.. In principle.. yes. however practical.. no. PAYLOAD is so important. Please understand this and don't overload. Weighforward will educate you with the reasons why you must load correctly for many reasons.

There are lots of people out there giving advice with no experience and no idea on towing techniques.

Question to be asked before you get weighed are.

- Are we getting accurate weights with correct travelling heights.
- Are we weighing using 8x pads to get accurate loaded rear axle weights and perfect ball weights without moving the vehicle.
- Is the surface suitable. (No you can't weigh on grass of soft ground with sinking scales)
- Is the vehicle being moved between weighs. This causes different wheel positioning on the scale pads and different weights each time.
- Is the ball weight being measured at the correct towing hitch height.
-Is your vehicles loaded rear axle weight under manufacturers specs with the trailer attached.
Be mindful vehicle rear axle weights increase between 1.1% to 1.5% of the ball weight when connected to a tow bar. This is caused by weight tilting back off the front axle.

Braking, steering and headlight angle are all things you must be aware of when loading for a trip. Air bags, heavy duty rear springs, weight distribution hitches and adjustable shanks all do different things when setting up tow rigs. If modificatiins are required to fix any issues be advised by experts that have many years of experience towing big trailers.

TARE weights is something we must be on top of.
Is your VIN plate truly correct? Are caravans and horsefloats accurately weighed by manufacturers? Are accessories fitted after the final weigh. If buying a second hand caravan or trailer be mindful previous owners have added accessories.

A busy weekend for the Weigh Forward team. Lots of interested clients sorted out. A line up of caravan's is a positive sign for a quality service.

Tomorrow Tuesday 11/8/26. Georgetown, Scottsdale and Dilston. Unfortunately we are booked out however we are will continue up the North of the state from Wednesday for those wanting to book.

Wednesday 12/8/26 Prospect to Penguin. All areas in between.

Thursday 13/8/26 Burnie, Ulverstone and Wynyard.

Friday 14/8/26 Launceston to Devonport including Deloraine and Elizabeth Town.

Saturday 15/8/26 and Sunday 16/8/26 back up the Northwest Coast. All areas.
