Weighforward can also provide certificates with Tare weights for the customer to supply the Registrar for trailer registration purposes.

Tasmanian owned and operated Weigh Forward Mobile Caravan and Vehicle Weighing has been weighing lots of single axle hybrid caravan's lately. I must admit I do like this style of caravan however we are seeing lots with very small payloads often putting them on or over legal limits. Side weights play an important part in gravity and trailer sway and many owners don't consider this when loading. Hybrid caravan's are often very heavy on the left hand side with electric awnings, outside pantries, big slide out fridge/freezers and they often TARE at 2550kg. With a 3000kg ATM it only leaves a PAYLOADS of 450kg. The earlier models only have 2750kg to 2850kg ATM's making loading even more tricky.

A busy 4x days away weighing in Hobart, Ross, Melton Mowbray, Cambridge, Launceston and back to Spreyton late this afternoon for a pre caravan purchase weigh. No rest for Tassies #1 Weigh Forward and straight back into weighing with a week planned for the North West Coast.

Weighing at our clients homes are always interesting. A phone call from a true gentleman and a quick trip to a home with one of the best views I've ever seen. A job to weigh an old school F250 and a 5th wheeler caravan was cool as I do have a love for old school American trucks🙂...however his airplane I wanted to bring home more than anything😂

Can small vehicles legally tow caravans?

This is a question we get asked often at Weigh Forward and the answer is yes... Depending on the vehicles BTC and the caravan's ATM.

Today's Subaru XV was a capable little tow vehicle with a 1400Kg BTC (Braked Towing Capicity) and 140kg of downward ball weight.

The Subaru pictured below weighed in well under the GVM including the ball weight and left 179kg to add.

Agfest 2026 complete. Day 3 was a huge success... Massive crowds and our display constantly full of people. A huge thank you to all the Weighforward team... Wednesday setup, then 3x days of leaving home at 5.30am and the dedication on the stand helping all our valued clients and the pack up tonight. It can't be done successfully without the full team putting in 100%... Our 2x youngest sons Charlie and Ollie never let dad down. Ollie reminding people to enter our competition for a free weigh and education session and Charlie with the countless trips with the trolley to the carpark to deliver the purchased stock straight into boots. All our clients are treated like family and Charlie's delivery service with a smile was certainly appreciated by all.
We are home safe... unloaded and now repacked and ready for an early start tomorrow.

For those that checked out our shop and asked the question can they pick up items later the answer is yes. We have full stock in our mobile office and deliver everyday.

Day 2 of Agfest completed.
A huge day with hundreds of people flooding our stand with enquiries and bookings.

Our shop items flew up the road with many customers commenting how good it was they could pick up those must have products they have wanted for along time.
However no rest for Weighforward.... As soon as the Agfest gates shut up the road it was.. Weighing into the dark is something we often do for our valued customers. Clients on the boat last night... and legal setup and confidence given. Weigh Forward won't let you down.

The benefit's of having a mobile office set up.. full lights and the diesel heater pumping we weigh into the night all year round.

15 hour days is what one does to have the reputation of Tassies #1 mobile vehicle weighing service.

No sleeping on our stand.. Thanks to those that lined up to talk to Weighforward. The Sun is out.. the wind has gone and the people are starting to come through the gates.

Day 1 of Agfest is done and dusted. A huge day as per all our shows but rewarding to help so many people that were unsure on travelling weights.

What brings happiness to the Weighforward family is so many people calling in... even those just walking past commenting on our cool display. Day 1 of Agfest is normally a guide for what to expect for the main 2x days. The calm before the storm we say... however lots of enquires.. heaps of bookings and stock sold.

We love when past clients call in and say hello. They tell the stories of previous camping trips and how they went. Several customers said today...Cam your display and knowledge clearly shows why Weigh Forward is #1 We truly appreciate peoples patience.. sometime 3 or 4 people lining up to chat.. I thought it was just the gas heater going but apparently not😂

Call in over the next 2x days and pick up those camping must have items.. Introduce yourself and ask any questions you have. Check out our display in South Street at site S54 next to Telstra and opposite the Woolworths pavilion.
