This GT-R Needed More Bass — Not Less Boot Space!

The goal with this build was simple: significantly improve the sound system without taking over the GT-R’s already limited boot space.

For the low end, we installed two Focal SUB10 Slim subwoofers into custom Stack Fab enclosures, tucked neatly into the sides of the boot to retain as much usable space as possible.

Up front, the factory speakers were replaced with Focal ISU165 component speakers, including custom-made textured tweeter pods on the doors to give the new tweeters a clean, integrated finish.

Power comes from MTX compact terminator amplifiers, mounted on custom brackets we fabricated to utilise the factory subwoofer location rather than sacrificing more boot space.

A lot of the work in a build like this ends up hidden once everything goes back together — custom mounting, fabrication and careful use of the available factory spaces all help create a system that performs without making the car less practical.

Clean, integrated and still a usable GT-R boot.

No off-the-shelf bracket. No problem. ✅ ✅

This GWM Cannon needed a clean way to mount a 40" roof light bar, but there wasn’t a suitable bolt-on solution available for what we wanted to achieve.

So we designed and made one in-house.

The bracket was designed specifically for the vehicle, plasma cut from steel, test fitted, then powder coated ready for final installation.

The result is a strong, neat mounting solution that bolts on properly and positions the 40" light bar exactly where it needs to be.

Design, fabrication, finishing and installation all handled in-house at D2i.

This is the sort of job we enjoy — when the part doesn’t exist, we make it.

Can you fit 6.5" 3 ways into a 1998 Porsche 911 ❓ The answer is Yes! ✅

A 6.5" 3-way front stage in a 1998 Porsche 911 sounds simple enough… until the factory doors only give you a 5" woofer enclosure.

For this 911 we installed a Focal Flax 6.5" 3-way component set up front, but there was no off-the-shelf way to make the larger woofers fit properly while retaining the factory locations.

So we made our own solution.

The front and rear sections of the OEM woofer enclosures were carefully cut, then 3D scanned so we could design new adaptor sections specifically around the factory housings and the larger Focal woofers.

Those adaptors were then 3D printed, epoxied into the original enclosures and fully sealed to create a solid, properly integrated mounting solution.

The midrange and tweeters also needed custom 3D-printed mounts so they could sit neatly behind the original front grilles and keep the interior looking factory.

In the rear, Focal Access 4" speakers were adapted to fit behind the OEM grilles, while the amplifier and crossovers were installed into the original amplifier location in the front of the car.

A lot of the work in an install like this disappears once everything goes back together — but that's exactly the point.

Modern premium audio, custom-designed to work with the original Porsche interior rather than against it.

Dash Camera, Done Properly

A Thinkware U3000 pro setup fitted to this Rav 4 including the LTE Module for remote access and dedicated camera battery.

A hidden battery allows for safe, no load power draw on the vehicle's 12v system when parked and the LTE module allows for remote access to all footage and alerts when away from the vehicle.

NO SECOND CHANCES!

There's one part of fitting parking sensors you don't want to get wrong!

Measure twice cut once so they say!

This VE came in for front and rear parking sensors.

The end result is a much easier vehicle to judge in tight spaces with automatic front gps speed controlled activation and automatic rear activation.
