Greyhound racing is still an amateur sport in most countries and the race events are just

for entertainment purposes. However, in some countries like the United States, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia and the U.K., the sport is a favorite for punters even though it is not in the same league as horse racing. A strong greyhound adoption movement in Australia and other countries that have strong greyhound racing industry help to rehabilitate retiring dogs by placing them into homes as pets.

What a night of racing at Winnellie Park! Fast times, close finishes and plenty of cheering made for another cracking Sunday night 🐾🍻

🏁 Race 1 – Sign City Dash Division 1 (312m)
Chief Costa (Brian Kelleher) kicked off proceedings in style, stopping the clock in 18.33 and defeating Langley by 5.25 lengths, with Little Nifty 7.75 lengths from the winner in third.

🏁 Race 2 – Asian-United Food Service Dash Division 1 (383m)
Enigma Go (Steele Bolton) proved too strong over the 383m journey, running 22.06 to score by 2 lengths over Resilient, with Selena’s Chance 4.50 lengths from the winner in third.

🏁 Race 3 – BTC Constructions Dash Division 1 (312m)
Rooster Jazz (Richard Cobra Carr) held off the fast-finishing So Naive by just 0.50 lengths in 18.52, with Jet Black Ginger another length away in third.

🏆 Race 4 – KNL Fire Solutions Best All Rounder Final Division 1 (537m) 🏆
The feature event lived up to expectations as Little Lockett (Rob Brown) powered away early to claim the Best All Rounder Final in 31.22. Stockman George chased gamely into second, 8.75 lengths adrift, while Zelda Chaos filled third 9.25 lengths from the winner. A dominant performance in the night’s richest race and a worthy winner of the series 👏🐾

🏁 Race 5 – Winning Edge Dash Division 1 (312m)
Brave Ember (Ronald Phillips) was all class in 17.90, defeating Slippery Witch by 2.50 lengths, with Honest Jan 3.75 lengths from the winner in third.

🏁 Race 6 – Old Mates Bakery Dash Division 1 (312m)
Bastianini (Ronald Phillips) continued the strong night for the kennel, clocking 17.88 and defeating Kelmar Boss by 6 lengths, with Little Riley also 6 lengths from the winner in third.

🍍🏁 Race 7 – Cub Dash Division 1 (383m)
Extra Pineapple (Simon Nathanael) produced one of the most vocal moments of the night, charging home in the final strides to sn**ch victory in 22.29! The biggest cheer of the evening erupted from the clubhouse as punters cheered her home by just 0.50 lengths over Miss Shylock, with Our Girl Franky only 1 length from the winner in third. If there was ever a sign to add extra pineapple to your parmi for the win, this was it! 🍍🍍🍍

🏁 Race 8 – Hyland Sportswear Dash Division 1 (312m)
Bear The Brunt (Steele Bolton) rounded out the evening in a thriller, scoring in 18.07 by the narrowest of margins — just 0.25 lengths — over Bull’s Chance, with Dirty Dancing 4.75 lengths from the winner in third.

What a performance from Little Lockett, taking out the KNL Fire Solutions Best Prize Money All Rounder F Division 1 Final over 537m at Winnellie Park! 🐾

Jumping from Box 8, Little Lockett proved too strong right from the lids opening, claiming the $2,000 winner’s cheque and adding another feature race victory to an impressive campaign.

🎙️ The lure is rolling and the 2026 Premiership race is charging into another big night at Winnellie Park! 🏁

Ahead of tonight’s racing, the leaderboard continues to tighten and there are some fascinating battles developing right across the premiership standings 💨

In the Trainer of the Year, Steele Bolton remains the one they all have to catch on 76 points, but the battle for second has become a dead heat! Adam Poulter (30) and Ronnie Phillips (30) are locked together and chasing hard, while Rob Brown (16), Kathleen Reynolds (14) and Dean Archbold (13) continue to build their campaigns.

Over in the Owner of the Year, Adam Poulter has extended the lead to 27 points, with Dale Baker (22) holding second. Phill Brittain (21) remains right in contention, while Ol’ Brown Dogs (16) and Kathleen Reynolds / Dean Archbold (15) are keeping the pressure on.

And now the feature — Greyhound of the Year 2026 🐕🔥

Brittain On Fire continues to set the standard, edging out further to 192 points and holding a commanding lead. Stan’s Dream (150) remains the closest challenger, while Zelda Chaos (114) keeps third spot.

The battle behind has really intensified, with Brave Ember storming into fourth on 112 points, while Zero Control (96) and Bing Bing Secret (96) are locked together in a thrilling contest. Ontario (94), So Naive (86) and Kelmar Boss (82) round out a stacked top nine.

With the season heating up and plenty of points still on offer, tonight’s racing could deliver another major shake-up to the premiership standings 🏆🐾
