Normally we use our page to promote our business and how wonderful things are here in the NT, unfortunately today is going to be different. We are a proud Territory owned company and we have have had enough of the issues in Alice Springs, it is taking an unacceptable toll on our staff and management in Alice Springs. Please see the below from Steve, our Alice Springs Manager.
“I usually don't comment on social media however time for change the new youth laws are not working. Thrifty Car Rental has had since Christmas, 14 broken windows in cars & buildings, unlawful entries into our yards, several attempted break in's and massive amounts of damage. An attempted break in on Saturday night and our neighbor's broken into. Sunday night they literary bashed in the back door. Talice Security & police very quickly on scene however I have had to spend the night defending the property as it's not secure. There is no insurance for this just an horrendous cost to our business. I have lived in this awesome town for over 35 years because I love it, I have worked with Thrifty for over 20 years and this is the worst it's ever been. I challenge any one of our elected members whether they be local, NT or Federal to talk to me and the rest of the community with some thoughts on fixing the current crime problem. I suspect the silence will be deafening!! The elected members need to take their head out of the sand and do something at repeal the bail laws.”
